The awareness of the existence of supercomputer in Sudan and its services is greatly lacking. We need to create this awareness for both government and private sectors so the benefits can be achieved. Currently the Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST), International University of Africa (IUA) are training their staff for supercomputer applications. The graduates and undergraduates from Khartoum University and SUST are also actively pursuing supercomputer applications and programming. In the two workshops that were held this year by SMA, it was announced that SMA was able to have 5 to 6 days forecast with an increased accuracy and a resolution of 1km from the previous 7km, for its numerical weather prediction. This was achieved over the Sudan Grid Supercomputer.
