We take this opportunity to thank Dr. Emile Woo for his years of service between 2007 and 2026 both on the China South surgical team and as a board member and board chair.

Dr. Woo stepped down from Board membership at the AGM held on April 25, 2026.

Emile was our board chair from 2017-2025.

As we prepare for the 2026 Ride for Gutu Mission Hospital, here is a story worth celebrating from Gutu.

On May 1st, Brecore Cycling Club officially launched in Gutu as a local offshoot inspired by the Ride for Gutu Mission Hospital in Ontario. To mark the occasion, the club hosted a 120km fundraising ride in support of maternal and infant care at Gutu Mission Hospital, with over 60 cyclists participating in the event.

Excited to see this locally led initiative take root, and looking forward to future events and continued community impact in Gutu.
