Learning English is more than studying grammar—it’s about using the language in real-life situations! 🏡🔨
Our students spent the day learning home décor and DIY vocabulary before heading to Home Depot to complete fun renovation projects. From designing kitchens and bathrooms to creating balcony gardens and painting bedrooms, everyone had the chance to practice new vocabulary while being creative.
To finish the lesson, students presented their projects, explained their design choices, and shared ideas with their classmates—all in English! 🇨🇦

Learning about Canada goes far beyond the classroom! 🇨🇦
This week, our students explored Canada’s fascinating history, discovering how the country was formed, its national symbols, currency, and the inspiring people who helped shape the nation. They also learned about Canada’s government and political system and went on a school trip to the Ontario Legislative Building, where they experienced democracy in action and gained a deeper understanding of how the province is governed.
At English Encounters, we believe language learning is about experiencing Canadian culture firsthand.

Our students had a fantastic time celebrating the excitement of the FIFA World Cup! We talked about soccer, wore our favourite soccer jerseys, practiced English through fun discussions and activities.
To make experience more memorable we visited a local spirts bar tow arch the exciting opening match between Canada 🇨🇦 and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Students cheered for their favourite teams, enjoyed the lively atmosphere, and had plenty of opportunities to use their English in real life situations.
Learning English is even more fun when it connects us with the events and passions that bring people together from around the world!

Today’s second class was about nature vocabulary in action!
We took a walk through downtown Burlington and enjoyed the beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom.
Along the way, students practiced English in real-time situations, took lots of fun selfies and admired the stunning lakeshore views!
