AICTE has come out with a new Public Notification that clearly recognizes equivalence for all purposes including higher Education & Employment to Technical Courses conducted by various professional bodies which were duly recognised by MHRD with PERMANENT recognition upto 31st May 2013. This covers all students enrolled upto 31st May 2013.


It has been decided to close the following examination centers for conduct of Associate Membership Examination of The Aeronautical Society of India effective June, 2018 exam session:

1. Hyderabad
2. Kochi


As decided by the Governing Council in its 225th meeting held on 27th February, 2018, fresh registrations in section 'A' for Associate Membership Examination of The Aeronautical Society of India have been suspended with immediate effect.

Urgent information for the Student Members with Registration Number from S-09-1001 to S-09-2359 pursuing Section - A of the AMAeSI:

It has been decided to grant Extension of one Exam session i.e. June 2014 to those student members with Registration number from S-09-1001 to S-09-2359 who have passed 7 or more subjects and are left with 3 or less subjects to complete section ‘A’ fully.

General information

The Society is managed by a Council consisting of a President, President Elect, Seven Vice Presidents, the Honorary Secretary General, Honorary Treasurer and fifteen members, twelve of whom are elected and the other three nominated to represent special interests. The Council is elected every year at the Annual General Meeting. The Council manages affairs of the Society with specialist support from its nine committees namely; Academics Committee, Awards Committee, Building Committee, Editorial and Journal Committee, Grading Committee, Rules Committee and Standing Committee. These specialist committees give direction and plans activities of the Society.

For the year 2008, new Governing Council was elected at the Society Annual General Meeting held on 01st Feb 2008 at Chennai. Sh. V. Thulasidas, IAS, Chairman, Air India has been elected as the President of the Society and Shri Ashok Baweja, Chairman, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd as the President elect.

Earlier, the Governing Council had the proud privilege of being guided by various luminaries in the profession, including His Excellency Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam former President of India.
