Dear Friends, Family and Loved Ones of Lylli,

Halton Waldorf School is honoured to host a Celebration of Life for our dear Lylli on Saturday, October 17th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

For decades, Lylli was woven into the life of our school, and it feels deeply meaningful to gather in a place she held so dearly to remember and celebrate her together.

Speeches, reflections and musical contributions

2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
An informal time to meet and mingle, connect and share memories of Lylli

The celebration will take place outdoors, rain or shine, with a shared potluck of finger foods and hors d’oeuvres. Bringing something is entirely optional.

Parking will be limited, so carpooling is encouraged where possible.

At the family’s request, in lieu of gifts, those who wish may donate to the Lylli Anthon Fund through Halton Waldorf School in her memory. The link can be found in our bio.

We hope this gathering will feel like Lylli: warm, welcoming, full of connection and surrounded by the community she loved so dearly. ❤️

Michaelmas is a season of courage, strength and inner resolve. Through the story of St. George and the Dragon, we are reminded of the courage it takes to face challenges, persevere through difficult moments and find the strength within ourselves to do what is good and true.

Throughout our school, the Michaelmas season comes alive through story, song, movement and meaningful challenges. It is a beautiful reminder for our students that courage can be found in so many ways, through perseverance, kindness, helping one another and finding the strength to face what lies before us.

Another successful Welcome Picnic! 🍂

Each year, our Welcome Picnic brings HWS families, faculty and staff together at the start of the school year for an afternoon of connection and community, two pillars that are so important in Waldorf education.

There is something so special about coming together again, reconnecting after the summer, welcoming new faces and simply sharing time together as a school community. This year especially, there is a deeper gratitude for these moments of togetherness and for the community we hold around one another.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Parent Association for bringing this beloved tradition to life, and to all of the families who joined us and participated in our shared potluck.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our dear Lylli Anthon, a beloved and long-standing member of the Halton Waldorf School community.

For decades, Lylli was woven into the life and fabric of our school. She gave so much of herself to HWS and touched the lives of generations of students, families, faculty and friends. Her presence, warmth and deep love for this community will be profoundly missed.

It is a great honour and gift that Halton Waldorf School, a place held so dearly in Lylli’s heart, will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Lylli.

A sea of sunflowers and a beautiful beginning.

Our Flower Ceremony is one of the cherished traditions that marks the opening of a new school year, welcoming our youngest Grades students into the journey ahead and celebrating the connections that carry through the years.

With sunflowers in hand, our students gathered beneath the trees to begin the 2026/27 school year together, rooted in community, connection, and the joy of new beginnings.

🌿 A new school year is about to begin…

In these final days of summer break, our school is quietly coming back to life. Classrooms have been lovingly prepared, chalkboards transformed with beautiful new drawings, and our faculty and staff have been busy readying each space for the students who will soon fill them.

This year, there is something new waiting on our grounds, too. 🏀 Our High School outdoor basketball court is ready for play, made possible by the generosity of our community through the Annual Fund. We are deeply grateful for the many hands and hearts that continue to help our school grow and flourish.

For now, the hallways are still quiet and the classrooms are waiting. But very soon, our campus will once again be filled with footsteps, laughter, conversation, movement and the joyful rhythm of school life.

We can’t wait to welcome our students and families back on September 8 and begin the 2026/27 school year together. 🍂🌻

🎓✨ Yesterday, we celebrated our amazing Grade 8 Class of 2026 as they completed their elementary school journey!

Ms. Markh had been with this class since Grade 1, which made this milestone even more special for the students, their families, and our school community.

We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and can't wait to see what the future holds for them. Wishing our graduates all the best as they begin their high school journey!
