Burlington Christian Academy

Burlington Christian Academy Burlington Christian Academy takes pride in offering JK-Grade 8 students a superior education with a strong God-centered, Bible-based foundation.

From our humble beginnings in 1975 with 3 teachers and 12 students, BCA has grown to become Burlington’s leading Christian Elementary school. Over 160 students in grades JK through 8 are able to partake in one of the most progressive educational programs in Southern Ontario. Our Grades 6 – 8 enjoy an educational experience that teaches Academic, Leadership, and Life skills. We infuse the Ontario Provincial curriculum with hands on learning that excites and motivates both inside and outside the classroom. At BCA everyone loves coming to school. In 2000, the school incorporated as a separate entity from Park Bible Church to form Burlington Christian Academy. On September 10, 2001, parents, students, staff and board members proudly opened a brand new 25,000 square foot education facility on the western edge of Burlington. The school is owned and operated by a parent sponsored board of directors and operates as an inter-denominational school. BCA students represent 19 different denominations and 23 churches from the greater Burlington area. BCA follows the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum and is affiliated with the Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools (OACS).

🏕️ Once a BCA Kid, Always a BCA Kid!

Our annual Grade 6 - 8 Campout is always a highlight of our Senior Signature Programs! From tents on the back hill and conversations around the fire to BBQ, games, laughter, teamwork, and plenty of fun, it was another unforgettable time of fellowship for our senior students.

But one of the most special parts of this BCA tradition is seeing former students come back to where it all began. This year, we welcomed a record-breaking 30+ BCA alumni who returned to volunteer, lead activities, reconnect with staff, and spend time with our current students!

There is something pretty amazing about watching previous BCA students return to invest in their community. What a beautiful picture of the lasting relationships and sense of belonging that continue long after Grade 8 graduation. 💙

🔎 Calling all letter detectives! 🔤

Our JK students put their detective skills to work last week! Armed with magnifying glasses, they searched through books to see if they could spy the letters they have been practising throughout the week. 📚🕵️

Our little detectives were especially excited to share their learning with their SK and Grade 3 reading buddies, showing off the letters they discovered along the way! ❤️

Learning our letters is even more exciting when there’s a mystery to solve and friends to share it with!

A new school year, a new place to connect! 💙

A big thank you to Camp KidsTown for this thoughtful gift to help us start the school year! Camp KidsTown rents our BCA facility during the summer months, and they generously donated this bench as a gift to our school community.

It didn’t take long for our students to make it their own! During recess, the bench has already become a favourite spot to chat with friends, catch up, and enjoy time together.

We are so grateful for community partners who help make BCA such a special place for our students!

🙏 See You at the Pole 2026

This morning, BCA staff and students gathered outside our school for a special time of worship and prayer as part of See You at the Pole, a global day of student prayer held each September. This year’s theme is “Come to Me,” based on Matthew 11:28.

We were especially proud to have our Grade 8 students lead us as we prayed for our students, teachers, administrative staff, paraeducators, families, and our entire school community.

We also prayed that throughout this school year, our students would be inspired to use the knowledge they gain, the gifts God has given them, and the opportunities placed before them to make a difference in the world. 🌎💙

There is something incredibly special about beginning a school day gathered together in worship and prayer, reminding ourselves that everything we do begins with God.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” -Matthew 11:28

🎉 It’s almost time, BCA!

We are so excited to see everyone tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8th, for our first day back at school! 📚🍎

Students are welcome to join their classes beginning at 8:30 a.m. Then, at 9:10 a.m., we’ll gather together for our very first Chapel of the year - and parents are very welcome to join us!

This assembly will include a time of worship, important announcements, staff introductions, and… 🥁 the exciting reveal of this year’s Chapel theme! 🙌

There is something special about gathering together at the beginning of a new school year - a fresh start, new opportunities, and a reminder that we are part of this amazing community where we belong, have value, and are unified.

💇‍♀️ Hair Donation: Love in Action 💙

Last week during Chapel, staff, students, and parents witnessed a very special act of kindness as three members of our BCA community chose to cut and donate their hair to help others. ✨

Hair donation is a simple yet powerful way to support children and adults who have lost their hair due to medical conditions such as cancer treatments or alopecia. The donated hair will be carefully crafted into real-hair wigs to help recipients feel comfortable, confident, and cared for during a difficult season.

What made this experience especially meaningful was the reminder that compassion does not require knowing someone personally. These individuals willingly gave something deeply personal to bless people they may never meet, beautifully demonstrating what it means to put love into action.

As we gathered together to watch this special moment, we reflected on the words of 1 John 3:18:

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” ✝️

Our hope is that this example inspires all of us to look for opportunities, both big and small, to serve others with kindness, generosity, and Christ-like love each day. 💛

⛺📖 Grade 5 Bible Projects: The Tabernacle 📖⛺

Last week, our school community was invited to explore the Grade 5 Bible projects as students presented their learning on the Tabernacle of the Israelites from the book of Exodus. Students worked diligently to create detailed replicas of various parts of the original Tabernacle while researching the purpose and significance of each item, including what it revealed about God’s character and how it connects to our faith today.

Through this learning experience, students discovered that the Tabernacle represented God dwelling among His people while still remaining separated within the Holy of Holies because He is holy and perfect. They also learned how the Tabernacle foreshadowed Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection made a way for believers to have God dwelling within their hearts through the Holy Spirit, no longer separated from Him. ✨

It was wonderful to see students thoughtfully sharing their understanding and engaging our school community through such creative and meaningful presentations.

“Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.”- Exodus 25:8
