As the snow starts to fall and winter sports gear comes out, let's dive into a cool science concept: friction.

When you ski, you're not just gliding on snow; you're battling against a force called friction. Friction is the force that resists motion between two surfaces in contact. When you ski down a hill, friction between your skis and the snow helps you slow down and control your speed.

Want to know more? Ask your parents or teachers about friction experiments you can do at home!

Ever wondered why a straw in a glass of water looks bent? It's all thanks to a cool science trick called refraction. Light bends when it travels from one material to another, like air to water. This bending creates the illusion we see.

Is your child ready to become a young scientist? With Mad Science, they can explore the wonders of science through hands-on experiments and mind-blowing discoveries. Bend it like light!
