If your wrists are locked, your playing will feel harder than it needs to 🎹
A flexible and free wrist allows for:
• better tone
• less tension
• smoother movement
Don’t hold - release 😊

Don’t stay stuck on the edge of the white keys. 🎹
Sliding your fingers in between the black keys helps create better hand position, smoother movement, and less tension - especially in scales, chords, and fast passages 🎶
Sometimes small adjustments like this can make a world of a difference in your playing. ✨
❌ DON’T play piano like you’re typing on a computer keyboard.
Typing uses isolated fingers, but piano playing needs support from the hand, wrist, and arm. Our fingers don’t work alone - they help balance and transfer arm weight.
✅ DO play with supported hands.
When the hand, wrist, and arm work together, playing feels freer, stronger, and produces a much fuller sound.

🎹 This exercise can be used with any key with a piece a student is already comfortable with!
It helps reinforce key signatures by applying it directly to a piece of music, allowing students to hear and understand how the notes work together – not just read them on the page 🎶
It’s also a GREAT way to spark creativity, leading to improvisation and composition ✨
