Hidden Healing ❤️‍🩹

For years, I thought healing would look like:

❤️‍🩹Less pain
❤️‍🩹Fewer symptoms
❤️‍🩹More energy
❤️‍🩹More answers

Basically… life finally returning to normal.

But what happens when the symptoms remain?

What happens when the pain doesn’t disappear?

What happens when life doesn’t change the way you hoped it would?

That’s where I discovered something I now call Hidden Healing.❤️‍🩹

The transformation happening beneath the surface, even while the struggle remains visible.

For me, Hidden Healing has looked like:

🗣️ Reclaiming my voice
🙏 Healing spiritual wounds
♥️ Learning to rest without guilt
✨ Finding my worth outside of productivity
👣 Breaking survival patterns
⭐️ Learning to trust myself again

Yet, my symptoms haven’t disappeared.

In fact, some things have gotten harder.

But I am not the same person I was a year ago.

And that matters.

Sometimes healing isn’t measured by what disappears.

Sometimes it’s measured by who you’re becoming while carrying it. ❤️‍🩹

✨ I’m curious…

Have you ever experienced a form of healing that wasn’t visible from the outside?

What did that healing look like for you? ❤️‍🩹

It feels strange writing this after almost 9 months away from posting on my feed.

A lot has changed.

For a long time, this page primarily centered around my coaching work, helping others navigate chronic illness, pain, trauma, healing, and survival patterns.

And while I’m still deeply passionate about that work (and still coaching privately), this season of life has shifted me in ways I honestly didn’t expect.

The past several months have been messy, painful, refining, healing, stretching, and deeply humbling.

I’ve been navigating my own chronic illness, pain, trauma healing, spiritual healing, identity rebuilding, perfectionism recovery, and learning how to live in the “messy middle” instead of constantly trying to escape it. 👣

Somewhere in the middle of all of that, God made something very clear to me:

Write the book. 📖

And while I spent months wrestling with fear, overthinking, self-doubt, and wondering where or how to even begin…

I finally started.
Imperfectly.
Messily.
One page at a time.

So moving forward, this page is going to reflect more of my real life and current season:

❤️‍🩹 Healing in the midst of chronic illness, pain & trauma
📖 Writing my memoir and sharing the process
🙏 Faith, healing & obedience
✨ Identity rebuilding & perfectionism recovery
🦎 Life with Spike
🏡 Family, home & the everyday messy middle

You’ll still occasionally see coaching reflections, client breakthroughs, and pieces of the work I do, because coaching will always be part of who I am.

But I no longer want to separate myself from the very things I help others navigate.

I want this space to feel:

More honest.
More human.
More present.
Less polished perfection.
More real life.

So whether you’ve been here for years, or you’re just finding my page now…

Welcome. ♥️

I’m still becoming.
Still healing.
Still learning.
Still writing.
Still showing up imperfectly.

And I’m learning that maybe that’s enough.
Welcome to Embracing The Pain. 👣❤️‍🩹

Some healing feels like grief.

The past two weeks have held so many beautiful moments…

Moments of reconnection, reflection, and healing.

❤️‍🩹 But healing, especially the kind that touches childhood wounds, often doesn’t feel beautiful while it’s happening.

It feels like exhaustion. Like questions. Like grief rising from the depths.

Two weeks ago, I saw someone who was a lifeline to me in middle school, someone who reminded me of the parts of myself I feared were lost.

And last week, I returned to Kingston to meet my baby niece, visit the foster mom who once made me feel loved and safe, and walk streets that carry layers of my story — both beauty and trauma.

💔And it cracked something open.

I’ve been doing deep healing work lately… rewiring survival beliefs, reconnecting with my voice, and building a life that aligns with who I truly am. But healing isn’t always light. It stirs things. Awakens grief. Triggers memories. Challenges beliefs.

This week brought unexpected roadblocks, my pain medication is on backorder, my domain is stuck in tech limbo, and my nervous system feels like it’s been on high alert.

I’ve done everything I can; calling 25+ pharmacies, reaching out for support, trying to hold it all together while quietly unraveling.

And yet… I can’t ignore the timing of it all.

✨Just as I begin moving forward with clarity and peace, the resistance comes. Spiritually, emotionally, practically. But maybe that’s how I know I’m on the right path.

This isn’t a post with answers. Just a moment of honesty from someone who is both healing and hurting. Growing and grieving. Hopeful and human.

If you’re here too… in that messy middle space… you’re not alone. This part counts. This part is sacred. 💙❤️‍🩹

Amanda ❤️

Today I woke up in full body pain and pure exhaustion.

And honestly? It caught me off guard.

But then I remembered:
I’ve been doing the deep, internal work of healing.

Lately, I’ve been focused on rewiring old survival beliefs — the kind that were formed in trauma, then reinforced by years of hardship, caregiving, and even self-sacrifice in my business.

✨One of the hard truths, revealed recently!👇

“You’re the one standing in the way of everything you’ve been praying for.”

🌊That hit deep.

Lately, I’ve been making aligned (but hard) decisions to reclaim my purpose and build a life rooted in truth, not survival.

And today, my body caught up with my spirit. The pain was my nervous system’s way of saying, “This feels unfamiliar. Unsafe.”

That makes complete sense when you’re healing from survival mode.

So today, I chose to honor that. I postponed sessions, rested, and focused on nervous system regulation — not out of weakness, but out of wisdom.

❤️‍🩹Because I know this is the messy middle of breakthrough.

👉🏻And it’s the only path forward to walking in my full, God-given purpose.

🧠💙 Healing is hard. Rewiring survival beliefs is sacred. And rest is part of the work.

❤️‍🩹 This is the messy middle of healing.
And I know where it leads — to purpose, peace, and freedom.

❤️‍🩹 If you’re here too… just know you’re not alone.

I used to monitor every symptom like my life depended on it.

I’d wait until I was at a 10/10 before doing anything.

And I was always analyzing… bracing… fearing the next flare-up.

But the more I obsessed over pain, the more power it had.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was reinforcing a fear-danger cycle in my nervous system — keeping me stuck in survival mode.

❤️‍🩹 Real change began when I stopped fighting and started allowing.

I practiced acknowledging, allowing, and accepting my pain without shame.

That didn’t mean giving up. It meant reducing secondary suffering — the resistance, fear, and urgency that amplified the pain.

From there, I could:

👉🏻Respond proactively instead of in panic mode
👉🏻Approach pain with curiosity, not dread
👉🏻Offer myself compassion without guilt

🙌 Over time, I started to reclaim my agency.

I no longer feel held hostage by pain.

I know how to move through it.

And if you’re stuck in that same cycle —

I want you to know:

👉🏻You’re not broken.
👉🏻You’re not failing.
👉🏻And you’re absolutely NOT alone.

❤️‍🩹 You’re allowed to change how you relate to pain.
❤️‍🩹 And you’re allowed to create a life that’s not defined by it.

Some days feel like chaos.
Others come with a moment of clarity.

And most days?
They hold both.

Living with chronic pain and illness means things rarely go as planned.
Flare-ups happen. Energy vanishes. Symptoms spike out of nowhere.

But here’s what I’ve learned:
Even when I can’t control the chaos, I can choose how I respond to it.

It’s not about pushing harder.
It’s not about doing it perfectly.

It’s about curiosity.
Compassion.
And small, capacity-aligned steps.

It’s grounding myself in truth.
Regulating my nervous system.
And remembering I’ve made it through days like this before.

Over time, I’ve built tools to move through pain and discomfort with more ease.

It’s still hard — but it’s no longer hopeless.

I’ve learned to embrace the pain… while still actively promoting wellness.

So if you’re in a season where fear or uncertainty feels like it’s swallowing you whole,

🙏 Please hear this

You are not stuck.
There is a way through.
And you don’t have to figure it all out alone. ❤️‍🩹

You’re allowed to slow down.
You’re allowed to change your mind.
You’re allowed to find purpose — even in the messy middl! ❤️‍🩹

I had a former diagnosis of stage four Endometriosis…

But one “normal” ultrasound made me question everything.

In 2020, an Endo specialist told me his advanced imaging showed nothing concerning.

He said, “If you had stage four Endo, we’d see it.”

So, I believed him.

I was relieved… for a moment.

But as my symptoms worsened, pain around my ribs, trouble breathing, and relentless cycles, I convinced myself it was something else:

➡️ Muscle Strain
➡️ Anxiey
➡️ Asthma

Because I was told I looked “fine.”

But I wasn’t fine.
And I’m still not.

Now, we suspect thoracic Endometriosis- where tissue grows on the ribs, diaphragm & lungs.

As a chronic illness, pain & trauma coach, I hesitated to share this.
I “should’ve” know better… but the truth is, I am only human.

I am still healing.
And this is a part of my story.
Maybe it’s a part of yours too.

🧠 Medical gaslighting doesn’t just come from doctors. It seeps in & becomes self- gaslighting, too.

If you’ve ever questioned your symptoms because a test came back clear or a doctor didn’t believe you-

You are not overreacting
You are not imaging it.
Your not alone.

You deserve to be heard.
You deserve care.
And I hope you don’t wait as long as I did.

💛 Share this with someone who needs this reminder.

💬 Have you ever doubted your own reality because of what a doctor said?

Today, I took another step forward in my Endometriosis journey. 👣

💛 I had a productive appointment where I was able to get all the necessary imaging ordered- including several MRI’S, X-Ray, Ultrasound & extensive bloodwork.

💪 But despite these small wins, I know this is far from over.

There is NO quick fix or simple solution, and I’m still facing major barriers to care. 💔

🤦‍♀️ Since many radiologists aren’t trained to detect Endometriosis, even in advanced cases, I will need to pay out of pocket to have my imaging reviewed by an Endometriosis specialist.

I am praying this leads me closer to being accepted by a specialist in my country (Canada, Ontario)

🙏 Right now, I’m trying to trust the process, lean on God, and the guidence of my trusted medical team. It’s hard when the answers feel so far away, but I am moving forward, one step at a time, because WE deserve better!

My carousel post shares just a part of my Endometriosis story, a story that is still unfolding.

💛 I’m sharing this to encourage anyone experiencing unexplained pain, symptoms or suspecting Endometriosis to keep advocating for yourself. I know firsthand how exhausting and dsiheartening it can be, but it is worth the fight.

You are NOT alone.❤️‍🩹

🤔 Have you experienced challenges getting an accurate diagnosis or proper care?

💬 I’d love to hear your story, share in the comments so we can support each other.

🙏

✨The whole reason I started Embracing the Pain was because I discovered that promoting wellness was the true path to feeling better, even when full healing seemed out of reach.

🗓️For years, I chased after complete recovery, only to feel frustrated and defeated when it didn’t come. But shifting my focus from “total healing” to “promoting wellness” was a GAME CHANGER!!

🙌This shift led to healing I never thought possible—not just for me, but for so many of my clients as well. When we focus on wellness—nurturing our minds, bodies, and spirit—we create a foundation for healing. It’s not always about “curing” but about living fully, even with chronic illness, pain, or trauma. 🌱

📣Wellness isn’t just a waiting room for healing. It IS healing—it’s the small, consistent actions that add up over time.

🕰️Patience and time are key. Healing will follow when we prioritize wellness, even if it doesn’t look the way we expected. 💫

💬How are you promoting wellness in your life today? What small, consistent actions help you feel better, even on the toughest days?

💙If you’re ready to prioritize wellness and take your first step toward feeling better, I’d love to help. Let’s create a personalized plan that focuses on both wellness and healing, at your pace.
