Is your child kindy age in 2027?

Children are eligible for kindy in 2027 if they turn 4 by 30 June 2027. This means children born between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023.

At Upper Mount Gravatt Kindergarten, we offer two kindy groups:

🐨 Koalas Group
Monday & Tuesday
8am - 4pm
🐦Kookaburras Group
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
9am - 2pm

Our kindy program is FREE for all eligible kindy-aged children.

Did you know Upper Mount Gravatt Kindergarten still has a few vacancies left?
Under the Queensland Government's funding, eligible children can attend our approved kindergarten program completely FREE 🙂 (15 hours per week).

This weekend we will be hosting our Kindergarten Open Day! This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your children to explore our learning spaces, meet our dedicated teachers, and discover what makes our kindergarten a special place for children to grow, learn, and thrive.
Date: Sunday 19th October 2025
Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm, you are welcome to bring morning tea to sit and eat while you're here.
On the day you can:
• Have a tour of our classrooms and outdoor play areas
• Meet our team and ask questions
• Learn about our programs, philosophy, and enrolment process
• Enjoy fun activities for children to experience our kindy firsthand - Outdoor play activities (sandpit, climbing, nature play) and indoor play activities (block construction, playdough, collage)

We have also booked Wonderous Wildlings to come and entertain the children from 10.30am till 11.30am, full of dinosaur activities, puppets and interactive show!

FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION 🫶
This week we welcomed the dads and special people in our lives to join us for a play and delicious BBQ breakfast.

The car racetrack was pretty popular with children and the adults too! We watched the cars zoom down the track and waited for the winner to be announced! 🏁🏎️

Children and their dads participated in a hand painting activity 🙌
The children also enjoyed showing off their skills on the monkey bars and engaging in puzzles and construction.

We gathered on the mat for a special story and for a raffle of some prizes donated from local businesses.

A big thank you to Suds, Little Green and Bunnings for the prizes donated to help treat the wonderful dads.

Thank you so much to all the dads who were able to make it, we loved having you there.

BOOK WEEK 📖

Is there a Doctor in the house!?
Well, yes there is in fact!

But uh oh, it seems we also have some fearsome dragons, dinosaurs and pirates!

Never fear, we have some superheroes on hand…just in case! Phew!

We were graced by royalty and many other marvellous characters, some spooky, some magical and some cute.

Everyone looked INCREDIBLE 💫

The teachers didn’t shy away from dressing up, transforming into some classic characters we think you might recognise 🐛 🦋 🐨

Many of the children used their costumes and imaginations in their play outside.

There were also parades, dancing, puppet shows and of course LOTS of reading!

Many were eager to share books they had brought along. We loved reading together and discovering our character’s stories 📕
