This is our latest blog article on our short courses, and it’s one that is very close to our hearts. We started offering online short courses because individuals kept coming to us saying, “I’d love to do this training, but it’s only me.” So we created a way for people to enrol on their own - no cohort, no minimum numbers, just accessible leadership development for anyone who wants it.

It’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made. Our one‑day and two‑day online courses have allowed people to join us from everywhere - Tasmania, Far North Queensland, Western Australia, and all the places in between. It’s given us a way to connect training to individuals across Australia, no matter where they live, or the size of their organisation, and to support people who are genuinely committed to growing their capability.

Over the past several months, we had the privilege of delivering our flagship LEAD Programme to a cohort of managers from several aligned businesses. Spread across five intensive face‑to‑face days, this programme brought together leaders from different organisational contexts, united by a shared goal: to strengthen capability, deepen self‑awareness, and elevate the way they lead their people. Last week, we delivered a three day short course on Policy Development to an Australia Awards scholar, Shahil Ram. Hailing from Fiji, Shahil is not only an Australia Awards recipient, but also a recipient of the prestigious Rob Tranter Fellowship, a scholarship for Pacific talent.

We really enjoyed working with Shahil - with just the three of us it was a very intense workshop, driven by Shahil's interests and focus areas. It's one of the things we take great pride in, customising courses to fit the learner.

Policy Development may sound a bit dry to most, but done right, policy is a really rich area, especially when you take a holistic view of the policy cycle. Developing the strategic insight and policy leadership skills to see beyond the policy itself, is crucial to ensuring we develop aligned, realistic, and sustainable policy. It was great exploring policy with Shahil - all the best for your ongoing studies!
