Thank you Farm Transparency Project for all of your continuous hard work fighting for the animals, and inevitably your risked freedom.
This is great news 🙌🏼

Animal rescuers have all charges dropped by the police prosecution 🐥

In November last year, four members of the Farm Transparency Project team were arrested and charged for the alleged rescue of eight "broiler" (meat) chickens, who would have been just weeks from a brutal death.

Today, in the Geelong Magistrates Court, all charges against Chris, Siena, Harley and Catriona were withdrawn by the prosecutor due to a lack of evidence.

Pavilion Farms, the company that claimed the chickens were taken from one of their facilities, owns six massive broiler farms in Anakie, Victoria. Each farm houses up to 400,000 chickens, with up to 50,000 per shed, breeding a total of 12 million chickens for slaughter every year for Turosi Foods 💔

Turosi valued the chickens at $1.80 each.

It's obvious that the supposed "theft" of $14.40 worth of "stock" is not what this industry is concerned about - it's the exposure of widespread, systemic cruelty and abuse that they are desperate to keep hidden from the consumers who pay for it.

Animals are not property, and their rescue from suffering and needless slaughter should not be a crime ✊
