Our Junior Kindy children loved harvesting our homegrown tomatoes to take home while learning about caring for plants and healthy eating.

On Friday, Natasha, Jonna, and Lisa, alongside educators from other Little Duck's centres, engaged in a comprehensive full-day trauma training facilitated by Morgan from Macgregor Consulting, strengthening our team’s capability to support children with complex needs.
Morgan’s expertise, grounded in her Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) and Master of Social Work Sciences, guided us through evidence informed, practical learning that connected neuroscience, relational safety, and trauma informed practice in ways that translate directly into everyday interactions with children.
Our educators explored how the brain responds to stress, the role of co regulation, and the importance of environments that promote connection, predictability, and recovery.
We highly recommend this high-quality professional learning to early years practitioners seeking to strengthen trauma-informed practice and deepen their understanding of children’s complex needs.

A bright, joyful moment of child‑led discovery

Our lemonade sensory table invited children to pour, scoop, squeeze, mix, imagine, and collaborate, and most importantly, to follow their curiosity. Sensory play like this isn’t just fun; it builds fine motor skills, strengthens hand–eye coordination, supports language development, and nurtures early scientific thinking as children explore cause and effect.

It also creates space for social connection, turn‑taking, problem‑solving, and rich conversations, all through play.
