A lot of people are visibly surprised when they discover I'm a classically trained vocalist who opts to sing in a metal band. The secret to my skill and success as a vocalist for any style I choose to sing in is my classical training and foundation in classical technique. It's not just reserved for opera singers, you guys!

Whether you're an aspiring classical vocalist, jazz crooner, or even a strictly harsh vocalist for a heavy band, classical technique will help you project better and more healthily throughout your career, improve your breath support and control (and therefore stamina on stage) and increase your comfortable range.

Friends! I am glad to say that I have now decided to offer singing lessons again. If you are an aspiring vocalist of beginner to intermediate skill who wishes to improve your technique or expand your repertoire, or even if you simply enjoy singing and want to do it for fun, hit me up for vocal coaching! Hello, lovely people! I have an announcement for you today. In addition to my vocal lessons, I am now offering piano lessons to all who are interested and would like to learn.

Just as a bit of background on my piano skills and experience: I have been playing the piano for 16 years and now play at the standard of between 8th grade and AMus level, according to the system of the Australian Music Examinations Board. My first job was performing as a session pianist at a Sandgate restaurant at age 13, and since then, I have performed professionally on the piano in numerous capacities. I am accomplished at performing various genres of music on piano, including classical, jazz, blues, musical theatre and contemporary repertoire. I have been writing my own songs for piano and voice since age 15, and continue to do so today in my capacity as frontwoman and co-composer for Dark Symphonica.

For my piano lessons, I will charge the same fee as for my vocal lessons, i.e. $35/hour, and the same lesson policies will apply - hour-long lessons only, either weekly or fortnightly. Face-to-face lessons are preferable for piano, however, if students have their own piano or keyboard, Skype lessons are also an option.

I am able to teach absolute beginner to intermediate level pianists, and can provide you with the tools you need to achieve your piano goals, whether it be just for fun, or to play in a band, or to prepare for formal piano examinations.

Hi everyone! Hope you've enjoyed your week so far. I just have a couple of pieces of info/reminders for you all. Firstly, you can now find all lesson information in one comprehensive list for your convenience, under the "Personal Information" section in the "About" tab of this page. Hopefully the information included should answer any questions you might have about my lessons and policies, but if not, please don't hesitate to message me via this page. :)

And secondly, I have established a cancellation policy whereby students who wish to cancel their lessons for reasons other than sudden illness or exceptional circumstances must give me 24 hours notice. This is just as a courtesy - no fee will be incurred if notice is given less than 24 hours before the lesson.

Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday period, and that 2015 is already looking to be a fantastic year for you! :)
