Board Election Outcome 2021
The 2021 election of practising teachers for the QCT Board concluded this month (June) and we are pleased to announce the outcome. The election was for three practising teachers – two from State schools and one from non-State schools – to serve on the QCT’s governing Board for its next three-y...

So I don’t read the Courier Mail but this was shared with me today.
Interestingly at the Board meeting yesterday we spoke about this and at least in Qld the completion rates are about the same as other programs. Attrition rates do go down after the first prac, which we all know is a result of people entering a placement and realising that teachings not for them… something we actually want to happen.
It’s worth noting that the review not only hasn’t finished but a consultation paper hasn’t even been released. It’s also interesting that no teacher registrating authority was asked for comment. Let’s not let facts and reality get in the way of a sensationalist headline though! 😒

While we wait for the official results you might want to consider nominating an inspirational teacher for the TeachX awards. This will be my 4th year reading nominations and it’s always a difficult decision. Show a teacher that you see them and the tireless work that they do by nominating them for an award.

Thank you to all the people who have already let me know that they voted and are supporting me, I really appreciate it.
It’s an awkward position now, just waiting... until 11 June when voting closes. Until then it’s be great if you let your colleagues know who you voted for and why.
Every vote counts!
Voting is now open for three practising teachers to serve on the QCT Board. All Queensland registered teachers have been sent an email from GoVote on how to vote. Good luck to the 37 teachers who have nominated!
