Update from J Hub - Our maths curriculum goals focussing on positional language and data collection have been an amazing starting block for hands-on learning and communication. It has been so engaging playing hide and seek, building constructions, playing with toys, moving our bodies and using technology, while learning and using language such as in, out, up, down, in front, behind, in between, right and left. Our curiosity was ignited while collecting data. Students answered and posed questions to and from staff and each other. We discovered each other’s opinions about a wide range of topics including music, colours, food from the cultures we were studying, activities and objects. Once the questions were answered the data was displayed and conclusions drawn. Apparently robots and buses are J2’s favourite toys and two students in J1 like chai tea.

From the ECDP - Through play, children discover not what limits them, but what is possible. Every smile, every connection, and every small triumph tell a story of courage, growth, and remarkable potential.

As we move through the middle of Term 2, students at HI Hub are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences, outdoor play, hands-on exploration, and the development of positive friendships within our supportive community. It has been a wonderful term of growth, laughter, curiosity, and connection, with students continuing to build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging each day.

Vincent delivered another outstanding performance, running a time close to his previous Districts result despite much harsher conditions. The heavy rain made the course difficult, forcing runners to walk parts of it. His effort paid off, earning him a place on the Met West team and qualification for the State Championships. Congratulations, Vincent! πŸŽ‰πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ
