Wee Jadey's Family Day Care

Wee Jadey's Family Day Care Family day care. Hello parents and children, my name is Jade Bytheway. I am now living at this property with my partner Ciaran who is originally from Ireland.

Here is a little about me and what to expect at ‘Wee Jadey’s Family Day-care’ that I run at my home in Carina, Brisbane. I am originally from the U.K and having been living in this beautiful country since January 2015. I came here originally to spend time with my brother and sister in law who live here and ended up staying. We enjoy going to the beach and having bbq’s. I have been working in childcare for the last 9 years. In the U.K I worked in a primary school as a teaching assistant, I also managed the breakfast and after school program which was for children aged 3 years to 11 years. I have also been a room leader in two childcare centres here. One was in baby room with children aged 6 weeks to 15 months; the other was in toddler room with children aged 15 months to 3 years. In my family day-care I aim to provide a loving and stimulating environment for children of all ages. I use my gentle, caring nature to guide children through their daily routines and am excited to work closely with you to establish a good routine that works for both home and family day care. I also provide a lot of intentional teaching at my service by extending of the children’s ideas, asking open ended questions to spark imagination and creating an atmosphere for a love of learning. My programs are strongly based on the Early Years Learning Framework and I always encourage a lot of parent/ family input. I keep a developmental profile for each child that you can take home at the end of the year. This way you can see how much your child has learnt in just one year!

Every term using the early years learning framework and developmental milestones for each age I set the children targets and goals.

Setting goals and targets for children helps them build confidence, learn new life skills, build resilience, encourages responsibility and improves focus.

Over the last few weeks we have been working on our goals and targets!

Some of our new skills include:
🥎 Catching and throwing
✂️ Cutting
👞 Putting our own shoes on
✏️ Writing our name
🥛 Pouring our own drink
⭕️ Drawing circles and lines
👕 Fastening buttons
🥄 Using a spoon

🧸 National Family Daycare Week 🧸

National Family Day Care Week celebrates the vital role family day care plays in the development and wellbeing of children across Australia.

National Family Day Care Week is integral to raising the image and profile of family day care. It celebrates the unique benefits of the small group settings, personalised educational programming and flexible hours of care that make family day care the option of choice for so many Australian families.

This week we have celebrated National Family Daycare Week with a week of picnics!

🎉 We had a first birthday teddy bears picnic
🎨 We had a crafty picnic
📚 We had a share your favourite book picnic
🚲 We had a “bring your wheels” to daycare picnic
