The Non-State Schools Transport Assistance Scheme (NSSTAS) provides financial assistance for families transporting students to non-state schools in Queensland.

The Scheme has two programs:
🚌 Bus Fare Assistance: assisting families who pay more than the weekly threshold in bus or ferry fares.
♿Students with Disability: supporting students with a disability who have demonstrably different transport needs from other students of the same age.

📅Applications for Semester 2 2026 open on 1 October. To learn more about the Scheme, including eligibility for both programs, visit schooltransport.com.au.

NSSTAS is a joint initiative of CEQL and Independent Schools Queensland and is funded by the Queensland Government.

Today, the ISQ team came together for R U OK? Day, sharing cupcakes and taking time to connect, check in and have meaningful conversations.

Research from R U OK? shows that nearly 9 in 10 people who are asked "Are you OK?" feel grateful, cared for and supported. Yet 1 in 4 people may hesitate to ask when they think someone is struggling.

In our schools, supporting the wellbeing of students and staff is fundamental to building safe, connected and thriving communities. A simple conversation can help someone feel seen, heard and supported.
