Taigum Child Care Centre is a not-for-profit, church-based organisation that caters for children from 6 weeks to school entry age. The Centre opened on 12th January 2015 and offers child care services to the families of Taigum and surrounding communities. We pride ourselves on our friendly educators with genuine warmth and commitment to children in our care. Our Centre provides a safe and secure environment as an extension of each childs’ family setting.

Senior Kindy Daily Blog with Miss Deepa

Hello families and friends! Welcome back after long weekend .

We start our day From Toddler Room ,where we meet our all friends and educators .our friends sharing about there weekend trip with each other .we start to play, blogs, animal toys, and doctor set ,some friends were busy in reading books . It is time to pack away .we all sat down on the mat and we start to do practise acknowledgement of country and Head shoulder knees and toes in turrabel language. Now, we are ready to go in our room ..
We reached in our room It .we start to play with magnetic tiles ,threading letters ,Home corner make up set and legos .It is time to pack away .

We sat down on the mat for group time.We marked the roll and start to practice days of week ,numbers,letters and weather.we sing the song wash your hands .we washed our hands nicely.
We lined up to the door to eat our morning tea. The children had yogurt and blueberries 🫐 .

With the full tummies we back in Our room .We are staying inside because it is raining outside we start to explore Home corner ,some friend like to play with baby dolls , ,cars and fixing to puzzles.Its is time to do yoga 🧘‍♂️.Miss Deepa let us know about the Healthy daily habits .we did some exercises also.

It is time to watch the educational show after finish that we make our bed for good rest.

We lined up for lunch where we had yummy yummy curry rice .
We are full now we are doing some rest now for afternoon fun

Pre Prep 1 & 2 with Miss Surinder and Miss Gurpreet

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. Welcome back to a new week, the start of Term 4, and the first day of school. This morning, we gathered in the toddler room for family grouping. The children enjoyed drawing and colouring, construction blocks, trains, and home corner play. Later, we headed straight to our yard, with Senior Kindy following behind.

First, we put our belongings away and sat together on the mat to discuss our room rules and the behaviour we expect indoors. After this, the children chose from a range of play areas, including caterpillar numbers, tracing boards, quiet reading in the book corner, sorting, and shape making. As more friends arrived, we packed away and went to the bathroom before returning to the mat for group time. We began by greeting our friends and educators and checking the roll. Next, we practised phonemic awareness skills, including identifying rhyming pairs, blending syllables, adding and deleting syllables, and recognising sounds at the beginning and end of words. The children then took turns identifying the first letter and sound in their names before moving to the letter board. We finished group time by checking the weather, then washed our hands for morning tea.

After morning tea, we returned outside. First, everyone applied sunscreen, put on their hats, and chose where they would like to play. Many children went straight to the playground, enjoying races with their friends before the rain began. On the veranda, the children explored construction play, home corner, quiet reading, letter X dot painting, animal play, brick blocks, and mini eco beam construction. Later, we packed away and joined together for yoga. Once yoga was finished, we listened to a story before heading inside to make our beds. After rest time preparations, we watched an educational video about Number-blocks. That’s all from us today. See you all next time!

Junior Kindy Daily Blog with Miss Nikki

Welcome back everyone! Today we began our morning in the family grouping room, spending some time with our friends and educators exploring free choice play and discussing our long weekend adventures. We then transitioned into our room for spontaneous free play, this included reading books, train tracks , home corner play, and music instrument . We then packed away all the toys and sat on the mat to greet our friends and educators, we then challenged our working memory with a shapes memory game. After, group time waited for our name to be called to lined for washing hands before transitioning to lunch area to have morning tea. At morning tea, we enjoyed yummy yogurt and blueberries.

After filled tummies, transited back inside to apply sunscreen and hats, we the lined up and headed outside. Outside friends enjoyed running races and cooking in the mud kitchen when unfortunately our play was cut short by some rain. So we came back inside to continue our free play! Friends chose to play with the blocks, animals, natural building blocks, threading beads and sorting the colourful animal counters . After free play friends helps to tidy the room, we gathered on the mat , to sit and cool of while watching some educational content to wind down. It was then time for lunch, so we went to wash our hands and transitioned to the dining room, where we enjoyed veggie curry . After we filled our bellies, we transitioned to our room for a rest. That’s all from us today!

Toddlers Daily Blog with Miss Maddy

Welcome back everyone, we hope you had a wonderful long weekend and made the most out of the lovely weather! We have had a wonderful start to our week, as friends happily joined in on play in the morning with some older friends before we waved them goodbye. In time for group time, our toddies acknowledged the land, and identified healthy foods before cleaning hands and enjoying their our fruits for morning tea. We then headed inside the room where we got ready for some outdoor play before the rain. Here friends watered then new herbs, others read books and did ball games! Then it was time to head back inside for some spontaneous play, friends enjoyed building train tracks, identifying animals and home corner play. After we had another group time, here we went over room rules, and sung my body, then we read the book ‘ the wonky donkey’ before counting 1-10 and finishing off with bee bee bumble bee. We soon enjoyed some sing along videos before having our yummy lunch and now a rest, that’s all from us for today. Bye for now.

Nursery Daily Blog with Miss Shweta

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back!! After a long weekend, hope you all enjoyed. We started our morning in family grouping room where we had a wonderful time exploring the room and socialising with older friends. After a little play we transitioned into our room and welcomed our friends. Then we all gathered around the mat to explore our room baskets and book corner. Soon, it was time for morning tea, we all sat down on our highchairs for morning tea. After we finished, we cleaned up and went outside for more fun. Outside we had fun walking around with walkers, sneaking to our cubby house, rolling balls, going on the slide and sensory toys. Now, it was time to pack up and get ready for lunch. The children then took turns having their nappies changed before settling down for sleep.With our tummies full and our little bubs tired after a busy morning of learning, exploration, and play, everyone is now resting peacefully. Bye for now, see you tomorrow .

Junior Kindy Daily Blog with Miss Nikki
Happy Friday everyone! Today we began our morning in the family grouping room, spending some time with our friends and educators exploring free choice play. We then transitioned into our room for spontaneous free play, this included reading books, train tracks , home corner play, and music instrument . We then packed away all the toys and sat on the mat to greet our friends and educators, we then practiced identifying colour. After, group time waited for our name to be called to lined for washing hands before transitioning to lunch area to have morning tea. At morning tea, we enjoyed yummy juicy fruits.After filled tummies, transited back inside to apply sunscreen and hats, we the lined up and headed outside. Outside planned a collaborative play with toddy friends using shaving foam and paint brushes . The foam being sprayed on table and friends used their hands and brushes to enjoy sensory play to sense foam texture . The activity being loved and enjoyed, each peer had smile and fun during play. After half an hour the activity being packed and friends chose their own free play some played with the bouncy balls, watering plants , tag games and making cupcakes. After free play and sensory foam time, we packed away all the toys and gathered on the veranda , to sit and cool of while watching some educational content to wind down. It was then time for lunch, so we went to wash our hands and transitioned to the dining room, where we enjoyed assorted wraps . After we filled our bellies, we transitioned to our room for a rest. That’s all from us today

Pre-Prep 1&2 Daily Blog with Miss Surinder

Yay, Friday is finally here .We hope you enjoyed the end of the week as much as we did. This morning, we gathered in the Toddler room for family grouping, where the children enjoyed drawing, colouring, construction blocks, trains and home corner play. Afterwards, we headed straight to our room, with Senior Kindy following behind.

When we arrived in our room, the children put away their belongings and chose different areas to play. Some were busy colouring and tracing, while others explored letter connectors, the quiet reading area, construction play and the number rocket. Once more friends had arrived, we packed away and visited the bathroom before gathering on the mat for group time. We greeted our friends and educators, checked the roll, counted together, practised letter sounds, reviewed the days of the week and months of the year, played an ICT number-counting game, and used flash cards as each child found a letter.

After morning tea, we went back outside. First, everyone applied sunscreen and put on their hats before heading off to play. Many children went straight to the playground, where they enjoyed climbing and sliding down the fire pole and slides. On the grass, friends raced each other, played tag, kicked balls, explored the tyres and moved through the obstacle course. On the veranda, children engaged in construction play with Sim Fit cubes and eco beams, tried building with twin blocks, enjoyed home corner play and spent time in the quiet reading area. Some children also played in the Dino pit. Later, we all packed away and joined a musical circle for singing before cleaning our shoes and transitioning back to our room. Once inside, we made our beds and watched a directional video while waiting for lunch. That’s all from us see you all next week!
