This Book Week, our library has become a Symphony of Stories — where every book, character and reader adds their own special note to the music of storytelling. 📖✨Each day, a different class has the chance to explore the library and search for the mystery Symphony note. 🎵🔎

🎉 Congratulations to Sienna from Prep, today’s lucky winner! 🌟

Our students have also been having fun with “Guess the Staff's Favourite Childhood Book”, discovering some of the stories that have stayed with our teachers over the years. ❤️📚

And WOW… our Book Week Shoebox Competition has been a real highlight! 📦✨ We have received so many incredible entries, with students bringing their favourite books to life through their amazing creations. Each shoebox is another little note in our Symphony of Stories, showcasing the creativity, imagination and love of reading that makes our school community so special. 🎶📚

The excitement is building at St Peter Chanel as we celebrate a week full of stories, imagination and a love of reading! 🎉📖

Throughout the week, students will enjoy an author visit, our Dress the Door competition, Guess the Teachers’ Favourite Book, the Secret Symphony Note Hunt, Passion for Reading awards, and our Shoebox Character competition.

🌟 Prep takes on the Wonder Lab! 🧸🔬

It’s our Prep students’ turn to conquer the Wonder Lab, and they are SO excited to investigate with Mrs Stone this afternoon! 🥰

Our maths investigation asked: “13 teddy bears went on a picnic… what might that look like?” 🧸🧺

Students found lots of different ways to represent 13, while exploring counting, subitising and adding to 13. 🔢➕

We can’t wait to see what the next five weeks spring for our curious mathematicians! 🌱✨

✨ A Very Special Milestone ✨

It was so lovely to celebrate our Prep classes’ first class liturgy last week with their families and Fr Anthony. 💛🙏

What a special milestone in their Catholic schooling journey! This is just the beginning of many more liturgies and Masses they will experience throughout their school years. ⛪️✨

We were incredibly proud of their confidence, especially as they shared the readings so beautifully. 📖👏 They did such a wonderful job!

A heartfelt thank you to our Prep families and Father Anthony for helping make this celebration so special. 💕🙏

🌏🔬 What a wonderful experience our Year 2 students had today with Virtual Science!

Their immersive VR experience linked beautifully with their current HASS curriculum as they explore places around Australia. The students had an amazing time exploring, discovering and learning in such an engaging way.

And honestly… we think the teachers had even more fun than the students! 😂

What a wonderful night celebrating the incredible staff across Brisbane Catholic Education! We were so proud to see our very own Miss Eadie Kendall named as a finalist in the BCE Awards. 💙✨

While she didn’t take home the award, being recognised as a finalist is an incredible achievement, and one that is so very well deserved.

Miss Kendall brings such joy, energy and heart to her classroom and to our St Peter Chanel community. Congratulations, Miss Kendall! We are so lucky to have you as part of our SPC family. 💙👏

🧡 Anti-Bullying Day at St Peter Chanel 🧡

Today, our wonderful children at SPC are coming together to stand up against bullying and spread a message of kindness, inclusion and respect. 🌟

Dressed in orange to show their support, our students are reminded that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, included and heard. 🧡

Let’s continue to choose kindness, speak up, look out for one another and celebrate what makes each of us unique.

🦖🌿 READY, SET, PREP… DINOSAUR ADVENTURE! 🌿🦕

Last Friday, our little pre-preps stepped back in time for a roarsome dinosaur-themed Ready, Set, Prep session! 🦖💚

The adventure took us down to the creek with Mrs Plater, where we shared a dinosaur story and kept our eyes peeled along the trail… because you never know when a dinosaur might be hiding nearby! 👀🦕

Back at school, our budding palaeontologists got busy with dinosaur painting, a dinosaur dig, fossil exploration and plenty more hands-on activities. 🦴🎨🔎We were even lucky enough to explore fossils from the Queensland Museum – what an incredible way to spark curiosity, wonder and a love of learning! 🤩
