18,000 Queenslanders have shared they are not happy with the proposed changes - keep sharing as there is only a couple of days left for signatures and we need them all!

Can you help? The QLD government is set to ram through the strictest legislation in Australia to restrict parent’s rights and ability to home educate their own children.

Whether you are home educating or not, this legislation is worth speaking up against - for the sake of the principle that parents (not governments) have the right and responsibility to make educational choices for their children (whether that be to public, private, or home - educate them); and for the sake of the children for whom mainstream education is clearly failing.

There has been a 195% increase in home education in Queensland in the past two years, and rather than ask why that is, so and seek to remedy the factors, that are driving so many families to choose home education; the government is attempting to make home education that much harder for home educating parents and students alike by forcing a ‘school-at-home’ approach on everyone.

There are well over 10,000 home educated students in QLD and the home education community is making sure that our voices against many of the proposed changes are being heard. The legislation is currently under Parliamentary review and taking submissions from the public for consideration before they make any amendments to the legislation. And it is important that amendments are made. But we need more voices! We need your voice!

Anyone in the public can make a submission. You don’t have to be a home-schooler yourself, and you don’t have to even live in Qld! If you agree that home-education is an educational option that is worth keeping on the table, then please take just a few minutes to do the following before 12 noon on Monday 25 March:
