๐ŸŽบโœˆ๏ธ HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE!ย โœˆ๏ธ๐ŸŽบ

Congratulations to Mrs Doucet and the Aviation High School Big Band on being selected for the Met North Regional FANFARE Finals!

This is the first time in school historyย that any of our bands have progressed this far in the Education Queensland's Creative Generations FANFARE festival of Bands journey, and we couldn't be prouder.

On Wednesday 24 June, our students will perform at the Old Museum Building alongside some of the region's most established music programs. While we're up against some very big schools, though this journey has never been about winning, it's about growth, teamwork, dedication, striving for excellence and making great music.

These students have worked incredibly hard to earn this opportunity and have represented Aviation High School with pride every step of the way.

Whatever the outcome, we know they'll take the stage, bring their A-Game and put on a spectacular performance.

๐ŸŽถ Congratulations, Mrs Doucet and AHS Big Band. Now go and do what you do best... MAKE MUSIC!ย ๐ŸŽถ

From 29โ€“31 May, our Year 9 boysโ€™ and girlsโ€™ volleyball teams competed in Division 2 of the Volleyball Queensland Intermediate Schools Cup, a statewide competition featuring more than 160 schools.

Both teams went into the tournament as underdogs and faced some tough matches early on, dropping a few sets and games along the way. However, with each match they grew in confidence, improved their communication, and continued to build stronger teamwork.

Their hard work and determination paid off, with both the boysโ€™ and girlsโ€™ teams winning gold medals. Even more impressively, they defeated teams that had beaten them earlier in the tournament. It was great to see how much the players developed over the three days, both individually and as teams.

A huge thank you to all the parents who came down to watch, cheer, and support the students throughout the tournament. The parent community at our school is incredible, and the encouragement from the sidelines made a real difference. We are very lucky to have such strong support for our students and sporting programs.

Congratulations to all players on an amazing achievement and a fantastic weekend of volleyball!
