Our Kindergarten 2 children enjoyed their second visit to Cairns Centre Residential Aged Care as part of our intergenerational program.
These visits provide wonderful opportunities for children and residents to connect, share stories, participate in activities together, and build meaningful relationships across generations. Through these experiences, children develop empathy, confidence, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of community and belonging.
It was heartwarming to see the smiles, conversations, and connections formed between the children and residents. We are grateful to the Cairns Centre team for welcoming us and look forward to our next visit.

🥚🎵 Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall... 🎵🥚
Our children had a wonderful time bringing the classic nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty to life through creative play and exploration!
Using construction materials, the children worked together to build a sturdy wall for Humpty Dumpty. They carefully balanced him on top, tested different designs, and eagerly predicted what might happen next. Through this hands-on experience, the children explored early concepts of engineering, balance, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Nursery rhymes provide rich opportunities for language development, imagination, and storytelling, while also encouraging children to think critically and make connections through play.
We loved hearing the children's ideas, laughter, and retelling of the story as they created their own Humpty Dumpty adventures!
✨ Learning through play, creativity, and discovery every day. ✨

🧘♀️ International Yoga Day – 21 June 🧘♂️
Today at Goodstart Indooroopilly Witton Road, we are celebrating International Yoga Day by encouraging children to move their bodies, practise mindfulness, and explore ways to support their wellbeing.
Yoga helps children develop balance, coordination, strength, concentration, and emotional regulation. Through simple stretches, breathing exercises, and fun animal-inspired poses, children learn to slow down, connect with their bodies, and build confidence in a calm and enjoyable way.
By incorporating yoga into our learning environment, we support children's physical health while also fostering resilience, self-awareness, and a sense of wellbeing.
🌿 Did you know? Just a few minutes of mindful breathing and movement can help children feel calm, focused, and ready to learn.
Reflection Question for Families:
💭 What is one activity your family enjoys doing together that helps everyone feel calm, relaxed, and connected?

🌿 Nursery Adventure at Kennewell Park 🌿
On 17 June, our Nursery children enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Kennewell Park, where they spent the morning exploring, playing, and learning in the great outdoors.
The children had so much fun climbing, swinging, walking around the park, and investigating the natural environment. They were fascinated by the bark and other natural materials, using their senses to explore different textures and shapes. We also enjoyed sharing stories together under the trees, creating a calm and engaging learning experience in nature.
The smiles, laughter, and excited giggles on their faces were simply priceless and showed just how much they were enjoying the adventure. These experiences help children build confidence, develop their physical skills, foster curiosity, and strengthen their connection with the world around them.
We are so proud of our little explorers and look forward to many more exciting community adventures! 💚🌳📚😊

🌊🐠 Why is sea water salty, but river water isn't? World Ocean Day at Goodstart Indooroopilly Witton Road 🐠🌊
Did you know that one of the questions our curious children explored today was: "Why is sea water salty, but river water isn't?" 🤔
Through conversations, books, and investigations, the children discovered that rivers carry tiny minerals and salts from rocks and soil as they travel towards the ocean. Over thousands of years, these minerals build up in the sea, making ocean water salty, while rivers continue flowing and refreshing their water along the way.
World Ocean Day gave us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our amazing oceans, spark curiosity, and encourage children to think about how we can all help protect marine life and our environment.
We love seeing our young learners ask big questions, explore the world around them, and develop a deeper appreciation for nature. After all, today's curious minds are tomorrow's ocean guardians. 💙🌎🐢

Thank you, Camp Quality, for sharing such a wonderful experience with our children and educators! 💛

🌿🍊🥣 Nature Soup in the Making! 🥣🍊🌿
Our children became nature chefs as they prepared their very own Nature Soup using a collection of natural ingredients. With fresh herbs, leafy greens, citrus fruits, seeds, water, and lots of imagination, they mixed, poured, stirred, and explored through hands-on sensory play.
This open-ended experience encouraged creativity, problem-solving, communication, and a deeper connection with the natural world. The children loved experimenting with different textures, scents, and colours as they created their unique recipes.
Learning through play is always more meaningful when curiosity leads the way. 🌱✨
