After being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, Sharon Oakley felt her world fall apart. Now, she's finding new strength through a UQ study examining how diet and exercise can enhance the wellbeing of women living with metastatic breast cancer.
The program offers virtual sessions with dietitian and exercise experts, aiming to help women with metastatic breast cancer stay strong, informed and supported.

UQ is driving change in rural and remote healthcare!
We recently brought together researchers, health leaders, and MPs at Parliament House for The Solutions Showcase – a powerful conversation on tackling health challenges in regional Queensland.
This event showcased the work UQ is doing to find solutions to reduce hospital admissions, boost the healthcare workforce, ease the burden of chronic disease & improve health outcomes through research.

🔬 New research from UQ’s Australian Women and Girls’ Health Research Centre (AWaGHR) reveals a serious link between endometriosis and early menopause.
Women with endometriosis are 7 times more likely to experience surgical menopause and are at greater risk of entering menopause before age 45 — whether naturally or surgically.
Led by Professor Gita Mishra and Dr Hsin-Fang Chung, this important research will be shared at the 16th World Congress on Endometriosis in Sydney later this month.
