🌳 Have your say about local park upgrades!

Councillor Nicole Johnston is holding a community poll to find out what local park and footpath upgrades are most important to the Yeronga community — so here’s a great opportunity for our kindy community to have their say! 💙

One of the options on the list is an upgrade to the playground at Hyde Rd Park, right next to our kindy. 🛝🌿

This is a park enjoyed by so many of our kindy families, so we thought we’d share the poll and give our community the opportunity to have their say on what should be prioritised for our local area.

The options include:

🚲 Learn-to-ride track — Jacaranda Park
🛝 Children’s playground upgrade — Hyde Rd Park (next to Kindy)
🛝 Children’s playground upgrade — Yeronga Memorial Park (Villa St)
🐕 Dog park upgrade — Yeronga Memorial Park
🚶 Footpath upgrade — Feez St
🚶 Footpath upgrade — Esplanade

Tickets have been placed in your children’s notice pockets, so keep an eye out and grab them when you next walk past! 👀

Once sold, please return the ticket stubs with a name and phone number and the money to Tracey in the office.

🌭 Winners will be drawn at our End of Term BBQ on Thursday 11 September!

A big thank you to one of our kindy dads, David, from Brisbane Biodentistry – a family-owned dental practice that has been caring for the Brisbane community for over 30 years – for visiting our children and sharing the importance of looking after our teeth! 🦷✨

With the help of his puppet friend, Pinky, the children learnt why brushing and flossing are so important, asked lots of thoughtful questions, and eagerly shared their own ideas about keeping their smiles healthy.

We love welcoming families into our kindy to share their knowledge and skills with our children. Experiences like these help build confidence, spark curiosity, and encourage healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

☀️ YHRK x LSKD Sunday Stroll ☀️

Looking for a fun way to spend your Sunday morning while supporting our Kindy?

Join us on Sunday 16th August at 8:00am for a relaxed Sunday stroll starting from Kindy. Bring the scooters, bikes, or simply your walking shoes! We’ll finish back at the YHRK playground for a coffee, a play, and the chance to connect with other Kindy families.

🎟️ $20 per ticket (purchase as many as you’d like!)
Each ticket includes:
💧 LSKD water bottle
🧺 LSKD towel
🔑 LSKD key ring

It’s a great opportunity to get outdoors, meet other families, and support our wonderful Kindy community.

A chilly evening, plenty of blankets and another great turnout from our kindy community. ❄️

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Christmas in July Movie Night. We were especially grateful that the predicted rain held off🤞

It was wonderful to see families rugged up with blankets, keeping cosy against the winter chill. In fact, it was cosy enough for a few of our younger movie-goers to happily drift off to sleep before the credits rolled!

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who gave their time to help with the BBQ, popcorn and drinks stalls, as well as everyone who helped set up and pack away. We simply couldn’t run events like this without your support.

And once again, a big shout out to for sponsoring this year’s Movie Night. Your generosity helped make another fantastic community event possible. 💕
