The first time a student nurse steps into the operating theatre, everything can feel bigger, faster, and more intense than expected. It is a moment that stays with you with equal parts nerves, curiosity, and awe. 🩺✨
The lights feel brighter. The terminology sounds unfamiliar. The pace is quick, and every movement seems to matter. For many undergraduate nurses, that first day brings silence, self-doubt, and the fear of not knowing.
Then comes the turning point, the perioperative nurse who notices, guides, and reassures. With patience, professionalism, and compassion, they help students breathe a little easier and find their footing.
These mentors teach more than tasks. They explain the “why” behind the “what,” showing how patient safety, advocacy, and teamwork shape every decision in the operating theatre. Their support turns uncertainty into confidence, one step at a time. ✨

In healthcare, trust is earned by protecting what patients place in our care.

Patient privacy isn’t optional it’s part of the care!
In healthcare, we’re trusted with people’s most vulnerable moments, and that means protecting their dignity, confidentiality, and consent every step of the way.
Clinical photos, case details, and stories can be educational, but they should never be shared without proper permission and careful thought. Even if names aren’t used, people can still be affected if their care is exposed in the wrong way.
Before sharing anything, it’s worth pausing and asking:
Is this respectful?
Do I have clear, documented consent?
Could this identify or upset the patient or their family?
At the end of the day, protecting privacy protects patients and it reflects the values of our profession.
What do you think should always be considered before sharing clinical content?

We’re proud to be supporting Restoremore and their incredible mission to make a real difference for women undergoing breast cancer treatment especially in regional areas.
After our seminar on Evolving Trends in Management of Breast Cancer Treatment for Women in Regional Areas, we were reminded just how important it is to keep improving access, sharing knowledge, and supporting both patients and healthcare professionals on the ground.
At Aidera, we’re passionate about being part of that change by working together to help ensure women receive the care, support, and education they deserve, no matter where they live.
Looking forward to continuing this journey with Restoremore đź’™

🌟 In celebration of International Nurses Week, Aidera honours Maz🌟
A true gem of the operating theatre and an OG in perioperative nursing, Maz gave her all as an experienced scrub/scout nurse. Admired by peers for her expertise, teamwork, and unwavering dedication, she built lasting friendships that endure beyond the operating theatre doors.
Now retired, her legacy of excellence, compassion, and inspiration lives on in every nurse she touched.
Thank you, Maz, for embodying the heart of nursing. 🤍
