🦷✨ Healthy Smiles Start Early! ✨🦷

Today our children enjoyed a wonderful visit from our local dental team, where they participated in a fun and interactive session all about oral health.

Through songs, discussions, demonstrations and hands-on learning, the children explored:
πŸͺ₯ The importance of brushing their teeth twice a day.
πŸ₯› Foods and drinks that help keep our teeth healthy.
😁 Why visiting the dentist regularly is important.
πŸ’™ How looking after our bodies helps us stay healthy and happy.

These meaningful experiences support children to develop lifelong healthy habits while building confidence and independence in caring for themselves.

This experience also aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF):
🌱 Outcome 3 – Children have a strong sense of wellbeing, as they develop responsibility for their own health and physical wellbeing.
🌱 Outcome 4 – Children are confident and involved learners, as they actively participated, asked questions and explored new concepts through hands-on experiences.
🌱 Outcome 5 – Children are effective communicators, as they shared their ideas, engaged in conversations and learnt new vocabulary relating to oral health.

A huge thank you to our wonderful dental educators for making learning about healthy smiles so engaging and enjoyable! We encourage families to continue these conversations at home and ask your child to show you the brushing techniques they learnt today. 🦷✨

Together, we're helping to build healthy habits that will last a lifetime! πŸ’™

What an incredible day of connection, collaboration and learning!

Today we had the privilege of welcoming Tiny Tiger Early Learning Centre to our service. Opportunities like these remind us of the importance of building strong community partnerships and learning alongside one another as early childhood professionals.

By sharing ideas, experiences and best practice, we strengthen not only our own knowledge but also the quality of education and care we provide for children and families. Collaboration across services helps us build a more connected, supportive and inclusive early childhood community.

A heartfelt thank you to Miss Shay and Miss Maggie for taking the time to visit our service. We truly appreciated the opportunity to connect, reflect and learn together, and we look forward to continuing this wonderful partnership in the future.

Together we grow stronger, learn together and create the very best outcomes for children. πŸŒΏπŸ’›

This experience reflects the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V2.0), particularly Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world, and supports Quality Area 6 of the National Quality Standard by fostering collaborative partnerships with our community.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our wonderful families who supported and celebrated our PJ Day yesterday! πŸ’™πŸ§Έ

Thanks to your generosity, we raised an amazing $280 to donate to The Pyjama Foundation. Your contributions will help support children in foster care by providing learning opportunities and positive mentoring.

It was fantastic to see everyone dressed in their favourite pyjamas while coming together for such a meaningful cause.

Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of children who need it most. We are so grateful for your ongoing support and community spirit! πŸ’™βœ¨

Good Afternoon Families,

In our reception area we have placed a questionnaire sheet for our families to fill out.

This questionnaire supports our Quality Improvement Plan, this document supports the service in improving day-by-day.

Our questions for the month are:

1. What areas of our environment does your child enjoy the most?

2. What makes a learning environment feel safe and inviting for your family?

3. What would you like to see improved or changed?

Please feel free to answer on the attached copy, in person, or in the comments to this post.

Your feedback means the world and can`t wait to hear all of the ideas you have for us.

A big thank you to Brisbane Adventist College for visiting our centre and presenting an informative session for our families about the transition to Prep.

The presentation provided valuable insights into school readiness and highlighted important factors for parents to consider when choosing the right school for their child. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to gain a deeper understanding of how to support their children’s learning and development as they prepare for this exciting new chapter.

We sincerely appreciate the time and expertise shared by the Brisbane Adventist College team. Thank you to all the families who attended and engaged in the session. Working together, we can help every child make a confident and successful transition to Prep.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Black Cockatoo Education and Ms Sally for the wonderful training session last night.

The Aboriginal 8 Ways of Learning training was engaging, inspiring, and provided us with valuable insights into embedding Aboriginal perspectives in meaningful ways. It encouraged our team to reflect on our practices and explore how we can apply these approaches within our educational program.

We truly appreciate your knowledge, passion, and guidance. Thank you for an amazing evening of learning and inspiration!

During Reconciliation Week, our educators thoughtfully prepared a variety of engaging activities that celebrated and explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Through storytelling, Indigenous art, music, nature-based experiences, and meaningful discussions, children had the opportunity to learn about Australia’s rich First Nations heritage.
Educators also explained the significance of these activities in an age-appropriate way, helping children develop respect, understanding, and appreciation for the importance of reconciliation, diversity, and caring for Country. These experiences supported children’s sense of belonging and encouraged them to value different cultures and perspectives from an early age.
