Biggest smile to end our season on a high goes to Penelope Campagnoni for her amazing efforts during the month of March. Penelope has progressed really well proving consistency is the key when it comes to results.

Apologies for late post, so here are my two Coaches Winners for the month of February.
LTS super star Edith Tinney’s confidence has soared this Term making great progress in her lessons always with a smile on her face.
Squad winner Helenka Lowrey has increased her attendance this Term and all that commitment and dedication is paying off with some fantastic swims on Club nights and the recent School Swim Carnival.

Swimming does more than teach safety. Early exposure to water engages the nervous system in ways few other activities can. When toddlers move through water, balance, coordination, and sensory input challenge both hemispheres of the brain at the same time, strengthening neural pathways for motor control, focus, and problem-solving.

Research shows that children introduced to swimming before age 4 are up to 88% less likely to drown. Beyond safety, the rhythmic motion, resistance, and multi-sensory feedback wire the nervous system for better body awareness, emotional regulation, and confidence. Play that engages both sides of the brain promotes early cognitive development and self-efficacy. Structured, supervised swimming sessions, combined with encouragement and gentle guidance, help toddlers develop resilience and coordination that extend to land-based activities as well.

Early swimming teaches safety while quietly wiring the brain for balanced growth.

What a fantastic turn out from St Ita’s kids and parents along with our dedicated Brisbane’s Swim Hub Adult Squad all putting in super human efforts in the Noosa Summer Ocean swim today.
All though the weather was stunning the ocean conditions were still challenging as we made our way around the course.
Many first timers, especially our young swimmers who were able to be assisted by their parents for support and encouragement.
