Last Friday was a big moment for us, and one we’re incredibly proud to share!
ClearCut Seafood Training, in partnership with the Seafood Industry Association (QSIA), were honoured to receive the People Development Award at the 2026 Queensland Seafood Industry Awards.
As a business less than six months old, this recognition reinforces our belief that meaningful impact is built through collaboration, trust, and a genuine commitment to developing people across the seafood industry.
Our sincere thanks to Australia for sponsoring the award, Seafood Marketers Association for hosting such a wonderful night, all the event sponsors, QSIA for their continued partnership, and the broader seafood community for the trust, support, and belief in what we’re building.
We’re grateful for the journey so far and excited for what’s ahead. 💙

We jumped on the latest AI trend and asked ChatGPT to create a caricature of our Director and her job role — the result is brilliant! It captured her world perfectly, from seafood and fishing vessels to food safety and RTO training.
It’s colourful, energetic, and honestly a pretty spot on snapshot of the industry we’re so passionate about. We’re excited to bring fresh, practical and industry driven training to the sector — and if this caricature is anything to go by, we’re diving in with style.
Have a go yourself by entering “Create a caricature of me and my job based on everything you know about me.” Then drop your pics in the comments 👇👇👇 we’d love to see them!

Happy National Apprenticeship Week! 🎉
From 9–15 February 2026, we’re joining the celebration of apprenticeships and the huge impact they have on developing a skilled workforce.
We may not have our own apprentices currently, but we proudly support the apprenticeship ecosystem through quality training, industry partnerships and pathways that help people succeed in their careers.
Cheers to all the apprentices, employers, trainers and organisations making a difference every day! 👏

A look back at last week’s brilliant tour of Rocky Point Aquaculture! Met new finned friends - Natalie from The Table Food Consultants, learned how sea lettuce is farmed, and discovered that cobia deliver some world‑class side‑eye, with one of them known for spitting (we got lucky and missed the splash!). Would absolutely go again.

Two days ago, our Director went fishing for the perfect shots at Seafood on Bailey, and we think we landed some beauties. Behind‑the‑scenes chaos, laughter, and a whole lot of teamwork. The final cut is underway...stay tuned
