'How was your day?' 'Good.' 'What happened today?' 'Nothing.'
A conversation we know all too well! It can be tricky to get your child talking about the ins and outs of their day, and maybe that's because we're not asking them the right questions - during the day, your little one goes through a multitude of activities, transitions, meal times, games, possible disagreements with friends, and so much more. Having to find one moment to answer 'how was your day' can be really overwhelming, so being specific about what you want to know is much easier and exciting!
Flip through to see some great examples of how to start these after school/daycare/work pickup conversations. Enjoy chatting! 🗣

Centennial Way went 'ALL IN' for Reconciliation this year 🔴🟡⚫
Across our centre, educators invited the children to be ALL IN through meaningful experiences that celebrate Indigenous culture. Group projects to encourage inclusivity and respect for others, art and sensory activities to ignite conversations on the meaning of Reconciliation, Yarning circles every morning to share stories and create our own - just a few of the ways we have connected to the culture and the importance of reconciliation in our everyday movements.
This week has helped all of us build further understanding and appreciation to Indigenous peoples, and we look forward to continue embedding these practices into our curriculum ☀

National Reconciliation Week is a time to listen, learn and reflect ⚫️🟡🔴
This year’s theme, “All In”, reminds us that reconciliation is a shared journey that involves all of us working together to build understanding, respect and connection.
How will you be ALL IN this year? ☀

We had a special visit today for Road Safety Week! 🚓🚨
Centennial Way was lucky enough to have four police officers visit our centre today to educate our children on road safety. They taught us about road signs, traffic lights, and how to be safe as a pedestrian! After all the learning, the children were treated to an immersive experience of being an officer themselves... front driver's seat, sirens on, and speaking into the radio! What an incredible day, thank you to the officers for taking the time to educate our littles 🚦🚸
