Support Staff Recognition Week

This week we're taking the opportunity to say thank you to the amazing support staff who help make Taigum State School such a great place to be.

A huge thank you to Steve and Nick, who work tirelessly to keep our school grounds looking their best. Whether it's mowing, fixing, setting up for events or tackling the jobs no one else sees, your hard work helps create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Thank you to Bambi, our Business Manager, for everything you do behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly. Your knowledge, organisation and support are invaluable.

A special thank you to Karen and Carol in our administration office. You are often the first people our families and visitors meet, and you always greet everyone with a smile while juggling countless tasks throughout the day.

And to Chaplain Steve, thank you for the care, kindness and support you provide to our students, families and staff. The positive impact you have on our school community is appreciated by so many.

To each of you, thank you for everything you do. Your commitment, hard work and willingness to go above and beyond do not go unnoticed, and Taigum State School is a better place because of you.

Happy Support Staff Recognition Week!

Only 3½ weeks to go until our first 2027 Prep Transition Session.

This is an exciting milestone for our future Prep students. During the session, children will meet their 2027 Prep teacher, spend time in their classroom, and enjoy their very first classroom experience as they begin their journey at Taigum State School.

To attend, all enrolment paperwork must be completed and submitted before the transition session.

If you are planning to enrol your child at Taigum State School for Prep in 2027 and have not yet let us know, please contact our administration team as soon as possible at [email protected].

If you have already notified the school and submitted your enrolment paperwork, there is nothing further you need to do at this stage.

We will be sending an email to all enrolled families shortly with everything you need to know about the day, including arrival details, what to expect and other important information.

We can't wait to welcome our newest Taigum State School students and their families.

Our Library Has Some Exciting New Arrivals!

Take a look at just some of the fantastic new books now available in our school library.

These books were purchased using the funds raised through our recent Book Fair, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible support from our school community. Your generosity has helped us expand our collection with exciting new fiction, fascinating non fiction, picture books and popular series for students of all ages.

A very special thank you to Mrs Cran, who year after year goes above and beyond to support our school. Her dedication to organising the Book Fair and ensuring our library continues to grow is truly appreciated. We are incredibly grateful for the time, effort and care she puts into making sure our students have access to a wonderful range of books.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Book Fair. Every purchase has helped put more great books into the hands of our students and will continue to inspire a love of reading at Taigum State School.

Out with the old… in with the new!

If you’ve visited our Taigum State School Uniform Shop recently, you may have noticed it’s had a fresh new look!

A huge thank you goes to Jodie A for the time, effort and care she put into giving the shop a fantastic refresh. Your hard work has made a real difference and created a welcoming space for our school community.

A big shout out also to Steve and Nick for lending a hand with the revamp. Your support and teamwork are greatly appreciated.

Week Ahead

Good morning everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead.

We have a quieter week this week, which will provide a good opportunity to continue focusing on teaching and learning across the school.

We also have the Christmas in July photos available. They are a great reminder of a wonderful community event. Thank you again to everyone who contributed to making the evening such a success.

On Friday, we have our whole school Assembly, followed by Interschool Sport for our participating students.

Christmas in July Dance – Tonight!

We can’t wait to see everyone at our Christmas in July Dance tonight!

Doors open at 5:30 pm, with food available from 5:15 pm. The event finishes promptly at 7:00 pm.

A reminder that this is a cash only event, with a sausage sizzle, bottled water, glow sticks and Christmas lucky dip bags available for purchase.

Important: All students must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult for the duration of the event. This is a family event, and children cannot attend without an adult.

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend and are ready for another great week at Taigum State School. We have plenty happening over the coming weeks, and we’d like to share a few important reminders with our school community.

Prep Transitions 2027

In just six weeks, we will be welcoming our future Prep students for the first of our 2027 Prep Transition sessions.

If you have a child starting Prep next year, or know a family intending to enrol at Taigum State School, please ensure enrolment paperwork is completed as soon as possible. Children must have their enrolment finalised before they can attend the transition sessions. Families who have not submitted their enrolment forms will unfortunately miss out on these valuable opportunities to become familiar with our school.

Christmas in July Dance

Our Christmas in July Dance is this Wednesday evening, and we are looking forward to seeing our school community come together for a fun night.

Please remember this is a family event. All children must be supervised by a parent or responsible adult at all times and are not to be dropped off. Thank you for helping us provide a safe, enjoyable evening for everyone.
