💛 Celebrating Our Incredible Early Childhood Educators!

Today we celebrated the amazing educators who give their hearts, energy and dedication to our children each and every day.

From the big moments to the little ones, our educators nurture, guide, encourage, comfort, teach and inspire making a difference in the lives of children and families every single day.

Here’s a little peek into some of our celebrations! Each educator received a one of a kind original portrait, lovingly created by a child, to keep as a special keepsake. Along with some other thoughtful gifts, it was our little way of saying THANK YOU for everything you do.

To our incredible educators, your patience, passion, kindness and dedication never go unnoticed. We are so grateful for everything you bring to our service and to the children in your care.

Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day!
You are valued. You are appreciated. You are making a difference. 💕

Safeguarding with a device free service. We have now added these signs around our service as a reminder that we are device free. These steps help us ensure we have no personal devices around children, we use company approved devices only for all of our children’s learning/documentation, we maintain strict storage controls and send out clear communication with educators and families about our policies and any changes made. Every child deserves the right to a safe learning environment.

Families can support this schema by providing open-ended materials such as boxes, blankets, cushions, cardboard tubes, containers and fabric. There doesn’t need to be a “right” way to use them—the child’s ideas and creativity are what make the learning happen. You may hear children saying things like:

“This isn’t a box, it’s a rocket!”

“The couch is our boat!”

“This stick is my magic wand!”

You can support your child’s trajectory schema at home by providing opportunities for active play, such as ball games, bubble blowing, water play, building ramps for toy cars, paper aeroplanes, kites, obstacle courses, or visits to the playground. If you are interested in the other play schemas, we will be sharing these over the next few weeks and how they look within our service.

We believe every child has the right to play, learn, and grow in a safe, healthy environment. In our senior nursery room we empower children to become active participants in caring for their surroundings by helping to keep our learning spaces clean and caring for nature.

By involving children in meaningful responsibilities, we nurture a sense of belonging, respect, and environmental responsibility while supporting their right to learn through hands-on experiences. We also recognise that play is every child’s right, providing opportunities to explore, discover, and build lifelong skills through meaningful, child-led learning.

The children in kindergarten have been exposed to their rights being upheld and valued throughout their entire journey through the service. Our kindergarten children used the images within the books to voice their own ideas and choice on learning they wanted to add to their day-to-day curriculum. This included a celebration on their rights where they shared, the right to be healthy – cooking, cutting, preparing and choosing their own meals, the right to play – where they decided the activities and games to play, the right to be safe – unpacking ways to be safe while here at kindy including looking at allergies and how to be kind to others and the right to culture – exploring self-portraits, alternate foods, identities, families and communities.
