We are pleased that The Telegraph is continuing to spread awareness about methanol poisoning in the UK 🙏🏻

In 2024, Simone White was one of the victims of a mass methanol poisoning in Vang Vieng. Her best friend Bethany Clarke survived, but at an unbearable cost.

It was great to be invited along to the pop-up at Manchester Airport on Friday to support the FCDO “Know the Signs” campaign. We had some great conversations with travellers who wanted to learn more about methanol poisoning.

What started online has now taken us to , speaking to travellers face to face about methanol poisoning, the signs to look out for and what to do if something doesn’t feel right.

We’re so grateful to for supporting the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office ( FCDO) ‘Know the Signs’ campaign and helping us bring this important conversation directly to travellers.

Awareness is only powerful when people know what to look for.

Put a finger down if.. you hadn’t heard of methanol poisoning before today.

It isn’t something most of us are taught to be aware of.

If this can prevent even just one other person from going through what Simone did, we have to talk about it.

Learn about methanol poisoning, know the symptoms, and don’t assume that because something is being sold as alcohol, that it is automatically safe.

The holiday can change in a moment.

Most of us go away thinking about where we’ll eat, what we’ll drink and who’s going to regret that last round the next morning 🍹🌴

What we don’t think about is the possibility that something we’ve consumed could contain methanol, because nobody expects a holiday to turn into an emergency.
