Kid friendly gigs are pretty good 🀘. Our faces are being gently melted without the noise induced hearing loss.

Time for new tubes. This little Blues Jr has been running for 5 days a week for a couple of years. Replaced with nothing exotic, just a matched pair of trusty JJ El84s.

Hey Brisbane friends. As you know there's a lot of homelessness at the moment, with families living in tents. You only need to go for a walk along the river and look under the Go Between bridge and alongside Bicentennial Bikeway to see. It's pretty raw to see it, but it's easy to pretend it's not happening. It doesn't need to be like this, but it is.

There's a page and dropoff location called East Brisbane Free Shop - Mutual Aid It's accessed frequently by people in need. If you have anything like tents, sleeping bags, winter clothing, camping equipment, camping mattresses, yoga mats, toiletries, food, you can drop it off at 27 Kennedy Tce, East Brisbane. I'm sure it'll get put to good use.

There are also community pantries in many areas that need regular topups of food, sanitary items, toiletries etc. You can usually find out where by asking on your local community Facebook groups. We have a community pantry in Norman Park, outside Faithworks on the corner of Bennet's Road and McIlwraith Ave.

ALL DONE! Telecaster series/parallel toggle switch for middle pick-up selector position all finished.

It works like so:

When the toggle is in the upward position (as pictured), it operates like a standard tele (both pickups wired in parallel). This means a fairly even output in all pickup selector positions.

The new feature: When toggle is in the downward position, both pickups are wired in series. This produces a much hotter output (I guess it's the sum of both pickups?). As intended, it only works while the selector is in the middle position. Bridge and neck positions are unaffected.

I thought about using a 4-way selector like everyone else, but it seems odd to have one pickup position that much hotter than the rest.

It's great to have one more tone option available on a tele!

The bridge pick-up is out of an American standard tele. The neck pickup is stock 90s Japanese.

Video to come (hopefully).

Pics in reverse order.

They look so vulnerable without their pickguard.

My volume pot bit the dust and the tone cap had a broken leg. I'm replacing all of the electronics, bar the pickups. Plus installing a series/parallel switch (using a DPDT toggle rather than a 4 way selector). Also a PIO cap to see what the fuss is about.
