Loved working with the Head of Junior School, Director of Innovation and Year 1 Teachers, during our Human-Centred Design Bootcamp (2019) as they became innovators themselves in order to design their first innovation unit entitled, 'Say Goodbye to Home.'

Their 'lived experience' made it easy to create a learning journey for their students as they stepped into the role of young innovators to find and solve real-life challenges for their local community.

In this unit, their 5 year old students found and solved a real problem faced by their local living historians (aka 95 year old residents of aged-care).

Within a few weeks, these creative teachers had designed a learning adventure that empowered their students to compassionate, real-world problem-solvers who lived the strength of failing forward and built creative confidence as they led their learning journey.

Delivery time! The Year 1 teachers are ready to start their first Innovation-Designed unit with 2 exciting entry events! This unit showed a great combination of Human-Centred Design, PBL and Service Learning.

It was the first time the teachers help their 5 year old designers find and solve a real-life problem for their 95 year old residents of aged-care (aka living historians).
