In the spirit of Montessori, visiting farm incursions give our children a wonderful opportunity to learn about respect for animals through real-life experiences. They learn to approach animals gently, observe their behaviour, understand their needs and recognise that animals deserve care, kindness and space - prevalent in our Montessori Grace and Courtesy philosophy within our environments. 💛These experiences nurture empathy, responsibility and a growing appreciation for all living things, including each other! Thank you Old Macdonald's Travelling Farms for your visit! 🐔🐐🦆

Studio Da Vinci has wrapped up its 4 week art incursion with Dilkara! The program was inspired by 🐓chickens, following the exciting Henny Penny Hatching experience, where the Dilkara children welcomed newly hatched chicks into their room and observed their growth and behaviours. 🐥
A big thank you to Celeste for bringing in her two wonderful chickens for a hands-on fluffy session. There were plenty of feathers and joy! 🪶
To conclude the program, the Studio celebrated this last session with a chicken🎶 dance and an invitation for children to take part in a final sensory experience inspired by chicken feet! 🐔The children had the opportunity to step through paint and walk ~ a playful sensory experiment ~ exploring the unique textures and sensations while imagining what it might feel like to walk like a chicken! 🐥
Thank you the team at Dilkara for assisting Studio da Vinci! 🎨 Find the Studio on : https://www.instagram.com/studiodavinci_australia?igsh=MTFldzBxbXR0Nnl2bw%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

Grace and Courtesy is an important part of our Montessori environment, helping children develop respect, kindness, and confidence in social situations. Playing board games such as Connect 4 provides a natural opportunity to practise these skills as children learn to take turns, wait patiently, follow rules, communicate respectfully, and show graciousness in both winning and losing. These shared experiences foster empathy, self-control, and a strong sense of community! When did you last play a board game? 😉

Sorting and folding laundry is yet another valuable Montessori Practical Life activity that helps children develop independence, concentration, coordination, and fine motor skills. As they carefully sort, fold, and organise the items, they build confidence while learning important life skills in a meaningful and purposeful way. 🧺
Dear Families, these experiences encourage children to take responsibility and contribute as active, capable members of their family, fostering a sense of belonging, cooperation, and pride in helping others. So please encourage your child to help with the laundry! 🧺
