We've been getting into the Christmas spirit !

We spend beautiful days outside , long periods of slow time where we explore , play , listen to nature , pay attention to what we can see , talk about what's around us .

Yesterday we immersed ourseves in nature . Imagination play took place . A caterpillar rescue was performed . Children became conservation warriors looking for rubbish to collect. There was plenty to see , learn and do !

As an educator , I believe our time outdoors supports children's sense of wellbeing, reflection, and mindfulness, supporting self-regulation and calm group routines.

Changes to the NQF starting from 1 September 2025

Being Book week and a rainy day - we were unable to attend to pop-up library. I thought it would be appropriate to do an activity based around a book so we read the classic story of 'Elmer and the lost teddy bear.'
We used milk bottles coloured paper LOTS of glue to make our own kind little patchwork elephant .

Reading this book gave us the opportunity to talk about kindness and how Elmer helped little elephant even sharing his own teddy !
