Happy Queensland Day!

There were plenty of smiles on the oval this morning; a glorious winter day for Gala Day #2.

A big thank you to our Student Council for organising today’s Free Dress Day in celebration of Queensland Day! Students and staff enjoyed showing their Queensland spirit and we greatly appreciate the Student Council’s hard work in bringing everyone together to celebrate our great state.

Do you really know where your rubbish should go?

After our Mini Marine workshop, our youngest environmental leaders certainly do! Through fun, hands-on games and interactive quizzes, they learned how to correctly sort soft plastics, organic waste, recycling, and general rubbish. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they discovered how small actions can make a big difference.

These future eco-champions are already helping to create healthier communities and a cleaner environment, one bin at a time!

Yesterday, our Year 4 classrooms looked a little different! The desks were pushed aside, traditional scissors were swapped for sewing scissors, and 30cm rulers were replaced with 30cm zips as students rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on with their learning.

As part of their Technology studies, students explored the important connection between design, technology, and making. The classroom was transformed into a busy sewing room, filled with concentration, creativity, problem-solving, and excitement as students developed new skills and brought their designs to life.

Experiences like these are only possible with the support of our wonderful school community. A huge thank you to the many parent volunteers who generously gave their time, expertise, and encouragement throughout the day.

We can't wait to share their finished creations!
