Gary’s deep fascination with the interplay between mental health, workplace performance, and personal life has established him as a highly regarded workplace coach and mentor. His expertise lies in addressing topics that were often avoided in the past due to social sensitivities, such as menopause, mental health, and workplace wellbeing.
A former Australian Test cricketer, Gary represented Australia on the global stage, experiencing the intense highs and lows of elite sport. This journey fuelled his curiosity about performance fluctuations—how an individual can excel as an expert one moment and struggle as a beginner the next.
As a Global Thought Leader and Partner of Workplace Village, Gary has been a passionate advocate for raising awareness about the significant impact of menopause in the workplace. He emphasizes that menopause affects not only those experiencing symptoms but also their colleagues and leadership teams, making it a critical area for fostering inclusivity and understanding.
Gary’s commitment to mental health and performance has led him to train extensively in psychotherapy, particularly in the areas of depression, stress, anxiety, and PTSD. He is also a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, with a growing interest in the relationship between gut health, the autoimmune system, and the neuro system. His work extends into pain management, where he continues to support individuals in achieving resilience and balance.
Through his partnership with Workplace Village, Gary remains dedicated to creating meaningful conversations and driving change in areas that have historically been overlooked, empowering workplaces to embrace openness and compassion.

Why is Menopause a topic of conversation in the workplace? Women represent over 50% of the workforce and 75% of those women are aged 40+. This means that almost every workplace is either working with, for or leading a women going through menopause. Menopausal symptoms are often misunderstood, including for women that are going through these changes. How do we create awareness and acceptance?
Now 52, I am Post Menopausal and have been for 5 years. I started Peri-menopause at 41 and at the time my Dr told me that I was way too young. I literally thought I was going crazy with my very real physical symptoms.
