💚 Empty boxes, endless possibilities 💚

At our partner service First Years Early Learning Elanora, it was over to the children to decide what to do with the empty boxes!

When we notice the opportunities, the many ways of learning become visible 🙌

💡Open-ended imagination: will it be a spaceship, castle, cave or race car?

📦 Early spatial concepts: climbing inside, filling, emptying and tipping boxes

🤸 Gross motor skills: pushing, pulling, crawling through tunnels and manoeuvring large cardboard boxes

🤔 Agency and decision-making: deciding how to balance, stack or reshape boxes

🤝 Collaboration: negotiating roles, sharing ideas, problem solving, co-creating

🌟 Confidence: trusting their own ideas and seeing them come to life

The Hundred Languages of Children is a poem written by Loris Malaguzzi, the founder of Reggio Emilia. He describes the many ways children can express, explore and connect their thoughts, feelings and imaginings in the early years.
