Professional email writing is a key part of any role. Your writing needs to match the requirements of your role and, when relevant, your clients. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Making sure you have addressed the email appropriately. All emails should start with an address, such as 'dear' or 'hello' followed by the recipient's name. The exact title you use should match what you have previously seen in the recipient's own emails. If you don't have any previous emails, or you are unsure, it is best to start with 'dear' and then adjust accordingly.

- Check for typos. Errors in emails may weaken your email 's message to your recipient by making it confusing or appear poorly considered.

- Use an appropriate greeting before launching into the body of your email, especially if you are requesting something. This can be a phrase such as "I hope you are well". Adding this makes your email less aggressive and can help encourage your recipient to action your request.
