Yilay Yilay's mission is to bridge the cultural knowledge gap between corporate Australia and our First Nation communities.

Yilay is a 100% Indigenous owned and operated design and manufacturing company dedicated to serving the uniform, promotional product, signage and office furniture/fit-out needs of the community. Yilay, a proudly 100% First Nation owned and 100% First Nations operated business, lead by Jesse Green, a Badtjala, Gunditjmara and Woppaburra man residing in Magandjin (Brisbane). Yilay is a design and manufacturing company dedicated to serving the uniform, signage and promotional product needs of Corporate, NGO's, Health and Education Departments, Sporting teams, Mining and Construction for both First Nation and main stream spaces. We use traditional and contemporary artwork as an educational and engagement tool to spark conversations on our values, beliefs, cultural practices and protocols. With every custom product, we share beautiful stories from the artist and their mobs while always aligning ourselves with our cultural ways of knowing and doing. Yilay has both on and off shore manufacturing facilities that produces quality, comfortable, bespoke garments and promotional products. We offer support from linking organisations with artist through to design of sublimation, signage and screen printing departments. Disclaimer: Yilay is honoured to acknowledge the designer of the Torres Strait Islander Flag, the late Mr Bernard Namok. The flag symbolises the unity and identity of all Torres Strait Islanders. The flag is emblazoned with a white Dhari (headdress) which is a symbol of Torres Strait Islanders. The white five pointed star beneath it symbolises peace, the five major island groups and the navigational importance of stars to the seafaring people of the Torres Strait. The green stripes represent the land, the black stripes represent the people, and the blue the sea.

More than just a door decal 🙌🏾

A small change to a space that can have a big impact, creating an environment where students can see culture represented, feel a stronger sense of belonging and know their identity is valued.

From concept and mock-up through to installation, this one came up deadly.

A BIG YEAR WITH UQ

Yilay has built a trusted partnership with UQ across a number of faculties, programs and projects but this one was a standout.

We worked closely with UQ’s Goorie Berrimpa team to create the full Goorie Goannas 2026 Indigenous Nationals- 20 Years Legacy apparel.

Deadly seeing the gear go from concept to competition. Each player’s kit was made personal, proudly repping their Mob and their Goorie Goanna number.

A special one for Kirrily too, UQ alumni and former Goorie Goanna.

Big thanks to His Doi, Lachlan M and Lachlan B for backing Yilay and bringing this one together.

Proud of this partnership. Proud of this kit.

YILAY x BRISBANE BRONCOS

This one was pretty special for the Yilay crew.

Yilay had the deadly opportunity to collaborate on the apparel for the 2026 Beyond the Broncos Student Leadership Summit, that brought together more than 50 senior students from 35 schools across South East Queensland and Northern NSW on Tangalooma.

And considering we all bleed Broncos here at Yilay, you can imagine the excitement when this one landed!

The artwork was created by deadly artist Nathaniel Chapman, with a story centred around culture, connection and carrying the flame forward.

Natty tells "The fire represents culture, connection and the stories passed down through generations. Each design keeps that flame alive, honouring the old ways while inspiring the next generation"

Seeing that story brought to life on shirts worn by our young leaders made this collab even more meaningful.

Proud to play our small part in such a deadly initiative.

Pretty deadly seeing the First Nations Lorikeets Rugby Club getting around in their Yilay training shirts

James from the Lorikeets linked up with Jesse from Yilay to bring these ones together and we reckon they came up pretty deadly.

Nothing better than working with good people, throwing ideas around and seeing it all come to life.

Thanks to James and the Lorikeets crew for backing Yilay and trusting us with your gear.

Running Proud. Standing Together.
