🥋 Rhee Tae Kwon-Do Brisbane at the 2026 Brisbane CARE Expo!

We had a fantastic time being part of the 2026 Brisbane CARE Expo, connecting with members of our community and sharing what Rhee Tae Kwon-Do is all about.

For us, Rhee TaeKwon-Do is about so much more than learning self-defence. It’s about building confidence, resilience, discipline and creating an environment where people of different ages, backgrounds and abilities can feel welcome and empowered.

Throughout the Expo, our instructors had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, answer questions, demonstrate some of our techniques and show how training can be adapted to support individual needs and abilities.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, had a chat, joined in or watched our demonstration. We loved meeting you!

And thank you to the organisers of the Brisbane CARE Expo for bringing together such an incredible community of people, families, carers, organisations and service providers.

🥋 Discipline. Respect. Confidence. Self-defence.
There’s a place for you at Rhee TaeKwon-Do.

Ever notice how changing a single word changes your entire mindset?

This week two Sherwood students were promoted to Black Belt at the Brisbane Action Day. Becoming a black belt isn't about cramming before grading or wishing for a result. It's about the habits you build every day, the 2 minutes you practice your stances while brushing your teeth, the 5 minutes you spend on your pattern.

We are very proud of our new black belts and their achievement. You're an inspiration and role model within the branch and the community. Congratulations!

This week our Sherwood students learnt a hard truth: Life doesn't give everyone the same starting line or deal the same hand.

In this game, students flipped over the Uno cards to tell them how many pushups they needed to do. If you were lucky you got a skip, if you were unlucky, you got a 9. The last student in push-up position won the game.

At Rhee TaeKwon-Do Sherwood we have students of all heights, ages and backgrounds. We teach them to master their own abilities and stop wishing for what they don't have. When you stop comparing yourself to others, stop expecting everything to be fair, you free yourself to achieve your own goals.

Are you saying it, or are you doing it? 🥋
This week at Rhee Tae Kwon-Do, our students are learning the difference between a "Stated Intention" and a "True Intention."
It's easy to say, "I want to achieve my Black Belt" or "I want to get fitter." But often, when obstacles pop up, our true intention reveals itself—like the intention to stay comfortable, or the intention to avoid hard work.
True martial arts isn't just about kicks and punches; it’s about aligning what you say you want with the actions you take. When your actions match your goals, nothing can stop you.
Proud of our students this week for leveling up their minds as well as their bodies!
