Congratulations to this weekās San Sisto Notable, Dr Kathryn Blumke (Class of 1984)! šØāØ
Dr Kathryn Blumke graduated from San Sisto College in 1984 and has built an accomplished career as an artist, poet, scholar, and former physiotherapist.
Kathryn completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1988, followed by a Master of Arts (Visual Arts) in 2015. In 2026, she was awarded a Doctorate in Visual Arts, further cementing her contribution to the arts and academic communities.
Throughout her career, Kathryn has exhibited her work in more than twenty solo exhibitions and participated in over fifty group exhibitions. Her creative practice is underpinned by a belief in the transformative and healing power of art.
Her artistic achievements have been recognised through shortlisting for numerous prestigious awards, including the Sunshine Coast Art Awards, Blacktown Art Prize, Redland Art Prize, Paddington Art Prize, National Works on Paper Award, Moreton Bay Art Awards, Churchie Emerging Art Prize, Tattersallās Club Art Prize, Stanthorpe Regional Art Awards, and the Fleurieu Art Prize.
Dr Blumkeās diverse professional background, spanning healthcare, creative practice, and academic research, reflects her lifelong commitment to learning, innovation, and the arts.

š This Weekās San Sisto Notable! š is Dr Kath Gleeson
Dr Kath Gleeson joined the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) in 2010 and currently serves as Deputy Electoral Commissioner and National Election Manager. She oversees the delivery of federal elections, referendums, by-elections and other electoral events, while also leading initiatives that strengthen electoral integrity, governance and public trust.
Throughout her career, Dr Gleeson has developed extensive expertise in electoral management, large-scale operational delivery, stakeholder engagement, legislative reform and organisational capability building. Her experience spans roles in Australia and internationally, as well as contributions to the not-for-profit and academic sectors.
Dr Gleeson holds a PhD in Politics and International Relations from the University of New South Wales, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Newcastle, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
