One year on from the sesquicentennial anniversary (10-10-2020)! Today we celebrated “what would have been” by collecting the music back from our Historical Orchestra. There was overwhelming appreciation by the alumni, former and current staff musicians, as well community members who came and board to join this project orchestra. I’ve been asked to try and repeat the concept for the next milestone anniversary which is delightful to hear and has made the effort of all worth while!!! The orchestra members were never able to perform nor receive the applause they so truely deserved, but from of the feedback received today, we may be reuniting as a community-based project-orchestra as soon as I can make it happen! Thank you Tina Macht for your support throughout this mighty journey. Thank you Antoni Bonetti AM for your time and energy as our conductor, and thank you Harmony Woollett for helping me source the music!
Thinking of our dear friend, Dr Mark Craig, who had the belief that these 150th anniversary celebration projects would succeed. Cheers, Phoebe

Meet Fay! She went to school in 1937 and was amazed that the building had changed so much. She told me that she really did not like the concrete wall at the end of the building. The first brick building - A-block - was not finished in 1935 and had only two windows on the left hand side which ended in a concrete wall.

Thanks, Nicky, for sending this image in. She attended Ironside from 1991-1997.
I still have 2 mugs from the 125th Anniversary, plus a tea towel with hand-drawn faces from every pupil in a class that year (in a box somewhere).
