Some of our littlest Navigators have been having fun with sensory experiences and hands-on play! In this activity, we filled a plastic bag with pom poms and placed it over a picture of a smiling mouth with teeth. The children loved using toothbrushes to “brush” the pom poms around the table.
A fun, hands-on way to build fine motor skills!

Choosing childcare for your little one is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make in the early years. And while a beautiful space and a friendly welcome are a great start, they don’t always tell you everything you need to know.
Our latest blog explores 25 questions to ask when you go on a tour of an early learning centre. It’s a great resource if you’re not sure what to ask!
But remember, there’s no such thing as a “silly” question when you’re touring a centre, so don’t be afraid to ask anything that comes to mind.

If you’ve been in our reception over the last couple of months, you would’ve noticed a weaving framed on our wall. This artwork was introduced to the centre by Miss Kylie and created by artist Jacinta Vale, Founder and Weaver behind Weaving Our Stories.
We’d love to share the story of the artwork below. And next time you’re in the centre, we invite you to take a moment to view the artwork up close and learn more about Jacinta’s story.
For Miss Kylie, this story resonated deeply with what educators bring to early childhood: protection, strength, boundaries and the sacred space of identity.
“The Circle of Country”, as told by artist Jacinta Vale:
“This weaving represents the connection between land, spirit, and renewal. The textured raffia fringe speaks of Country — the dry grasses that move with the wind, whispering the stories of ancestors. Each layer of colour in the coil mirrors the shifting landscapes of home — the deep soil browns, eucalyptus greens, and soft river greys of Dunghutti and Gumbaynggirr Country.
At the centre lies balance — a reminder that all things begin and return to the heart. The darker border encircles the story like protection, symbolising strength, boundaries, and the sacred space of identity.
When I wove this piece, I thought about the cycles of life — the times we grow, shed, and rise again. It’s a piece that carries both calm and strength, honouring the resilience of those who continue to weave their stories through hardship, faith, and healing.”
