Celebrating our amazing educators🎉

Over the past month we have celebrated some very special anniversaries for some of our wonderful educators here at the centre.

Congratulations to Miss Sadaf for 1year, Miss Jeanny for 3years, Miss Annie for 7years, Miss Aqsa for 10 years and Miss Tracy and Miss Rekha for 13 years of service.

Every milestone represents countless moments of learning, laughter, connection snd positive impact on the children and families.

Thank you for everything you all bring to your role and for being such a valued part of our team🌟

Today our jarjums enjoyed their very first visit to Dandiiri Library 📚

We learnt that Dandiiri is a Yuggera word that means ‘to come together’. We listened to the story ‘Going for Pippies’, joined in and had fun learning the Pippi dance. We then explored a range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander puzzles and story books.
To finish our visit, each child chose a book or puzzle to borrow and bring back to the centre, where they will be shared with friends across all other rooms of our centre.

Our children have been busy creating plant and herb signs for our garden! 🌿

They began by writing the names of our bush tucker plants and herbs onto timber, specially cut to size by our local Men’s Shed. Then, in our woodworking area, the children used hammers and nails to join the stakes to their signs, developing confidence, coordination, and practical woodworking skills along the way.
Once their signs were complete, the children explored the garden to find the matching plants and herbs before placing their signs in the correct spots.
Now everyone can easily identify what’s growing in our garden while celebrating the children’s hard work and sense of ownership over their learning environment. 🌱🫛🌿

Today, during our excursion for the Transition to Prep lesson, the children learnt the School’s Acknowledgement to Country. They then enjoyed listening to the very funny story Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons before creating their very own person dressed in a school uniform.
The children carefully followed Miss Mary’s five steps and were incredibly proud of their finished creations. On our way back to the bus, we spotted the water bubblers and everyone was excited to have a turn using them.

We all had a wonderful time visiting Algester State School.

What a fantastic day our Kindergarten children had at Stretton Under 8’s Day 🌟

The children enjoyed a fun-filled morning exploring a range of creative and hands-on activities. From face painting and spray painting to threading pasta necklaces, making crowns, dancing, loose parts play, and creating pet rocks. There was something exciting around every corner. 🎨👑🪨✨

So many happy smiles, lots of laughter, and beautiful memories made throughout the day 💛

Today Avenues managers came together for a day of professional development, building knowledge, strengthening connections, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

Today we celebrated Mother’s Day with a beautiful afternoon filled with love, laughter and special moments shared with our families.

The children enjoyed painting portraits, creating bracelets, painting nails and participating in a range of meaningful experiences alongside their loved ones. It was a wonderful celebration of the important people in our children’s lives and the memories made together will be treasured for years to come. 💐💕
