Junior Kindy One children became little scientists as we created our very own volcano eruptions! 🌋 Using bicarb soda, vinegar and different coloured food dyes, we watched in amazement as our volcanoes fizzed, bubbled and exploded with colour. There were lots of excited faces, curious questions and enthusiastic predictions as the children explored what might happen when the ingredients mixed together. 🤩🌈

The children were actively involved in investigating, experimenting and sharing their ideas with their friends. As they observed the reactions and discussed what they could see, they developed confidence as learners, explored cause and effect and engaged in early scientific thinking. 🔍💡 Children worked collaboratively, taking turns, communicating their discoveries and expressing their excitement throughout the experience.

Reconciliation week started today, Junior Kindy 2 children explored drawing symbols in the sand using the tuff tray. Miss Raj provided a variety of paint brushes to create different patterns and shapes. We introduced some Aboriginal symbols and demonstrated how to draw simple designs like circles, lines star, ocean, river, rain and tracks. We showed great interest as we experimented with making our own marks and copying the symbols. We observed them using our fine motor skills while carefully tracing and drawing in the sand. We engaged in conversations about what our symbols might represent, using our imagination and creativity. Miss Raj supported and encouraged us by asking open ended questions and acknowledging our efforts. This experience helped develop our creativity, early writing skills and understanding of symbols in a fun and sensory way.

Yesterday we celebrated National Simultaneous Story time. Across Australia, children gathered to listen to the same book being read at 12:00 pm. We all got ready for National Simultaneous Story Time. We read the book “LUNA ROO- The Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, illustrated by Jake Minton. This engaging Australian picture book explored themes of teamwork, courage, friendship and believing in oneself. The story followed Luna Roo and her friends as they played football together in the outback, helping the children understand the importance of working together, supporting one another and always trying their best.

This week our Toddlers participated in activities for National Road Safety Week, learning important road safety skills through play, discussion, and hands-on experiences. The children explored concepts such as holding an adult’s hand near roads, recognising traffic lights, and learning to stop, look, listen, and think before crossing.

Through songs, role play, and group activities, the children developed their understanding of how to stay safe in everyday environments while building confidence and awareness. It was wonderful to see the children actively engaging and practising these important lifelong safety skills

This week our Kindy children explored the famous artwork The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh. Using swirling brushstrokes, bold colours, and creative expression, the children created their own interpretations of the iconic night sky masterpiece.
Through this experience, the children developed fine motor skills, explored colour and texture, and engaged in meaningful conversations about art, imagination, and self-expression. We loved seeing each child’s unique creativity shine through in their beautiful paintings

Bike riding experiences provide children with exciting opportunities to build confidence, coordination, and physical strength in a fun and active way. As children practise balancing, steering, and navigating spaces safely, they develop gross motor skills, spatial awareness, and resilience. Riding together also encourages turn-taking, risk assessment, independence, and cooperative play while supporting children’s overall wellbeing and sense of achievement.
