There’s plenty happening for Practical Legal Training students at ACAP University College.

Jaymes shares his experience studying PLT at ACAP, including the opportunities to connect with the legal profession beyond the classroom.
Through ACAP’s collaboration with LIV, students can build industry connections and gain practical insight as they prepare to enter the profession.

For Jaymes, it’s all part of turning legal study into real world experience.

Dr Rumbi was recently one of just 30 academics selected by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research to attend the Academic Leadership Suite in Geneva, Switzerland.

She was also the only social worker selected and the only academic representing Australia.

While in Geneva, Dr Rumbi took part in global conversations around artificial intelligence, exploring what AI means for education, leadership and people focused professions like social work.

For Dr Rumbi, these conversations are a reminder that as technology continues to evolve, human skills like empathy, active listening and professional judgement remain essential.

We’re proud to see ACAP University College represented on the global stage and contributing to such an important discussion.

A change of scenery and a new challenge 🧗

That’s a wrap on Open Day at ACAP Brisbane 💙
It was great to welcome future students to campus, answer questions and have conversations about their study and career goals across psychology, counselling, social work and more.
From meeting our academic team and exploring the campus to getting some therapy-dog cuddles 🐶 it was a great day connecting with our future ACAP community.

What does AI mean for the future of law, and where does human judgement still matter most?
At the 2026 Minds Count Annual Lecture, we caught up with panellists Michael Tooma and Dr Michelle Sharpe to hear their perspectives on artificial intelligence and the legal profession.

The panel followed Chief Justice Peter Quinlan’s keynote, What the Machine Doesn’t Know: Humanity and Artificial Intelligence, bringing together voices from across law, research and workplace wellbeing.

ACAP University College was proud to support another important conversation with Minds Count Foundation.
