Our Education and Engagement Consultant, Tammy, recently had the pleasure of delivering Wings to Fly training in the Scenic Rim as part of one of our community sessions.

The workshop explored practical ways to engage and communicate with children, while deepening participants' understanding of brain development and how we can support healthy brain growth through everyday interactions. It was wonderful to see educators leave feeling inspired, equipped and excited to put their learning into practice.

Our Executive Director Dr Geraldine Harris was honoured to be featured in the Australian Institute of Play's powerful new documentary ‘Neighbourhood Backyards’ and to join the panel discussion and film premiere last weekend.

As childhood becomes increasingly shaped by screens, busy schedules and fewer opportunities for free play, this documentary asks an important question: What happens when we reclaim childhood, one neighborhood at a time?

Our Executive Director Dr Geraldine Harris had the pleasure of attending the C&K - Creche and Kindergarten Association 'Joy in Action' Conference 2026 - a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn and be inspired alongside passionate professionals dedicated to improving outcomes for children.

It was wonderful to reconnect with the Queensland Kids Partnership Oral Language team and also to hear about the incredible public health approach to supporting young children.

Last week we delivered a fun and highly interactive 2-hour On Wings of Wonder session at Play Matters! 🌟

Participants explored the power of play through storytelling, creativity and imagination, improvising, acting out and retelling stories together. These playful experiences help build early literacy, language, social and emotional skills, while creating meaningful opportunities for connection and learning.

On Wings of Wonder is a community-based program designed to support parents and carers in understanding early literacy, numeracy, emotional and social development, gross and fine motor skills, and the important role that play and laughter have in children's learning and development.
